SWEET!!!! i cannot wait!!! plus its always streamed online so yay for a new full pro-shot show coming out!!!! hopefully the sound levels will be good this time and we dont hear just Axl and Chris Pittman for the first 8 songs again.

Well, yes I hear what your saying, I was at Rock In Lisbon and the sound was absolutely amazing live, I wish that reflected in the broadcast. But, I always thought that the Rock In Rio 2001 broadcast was right on the mark soundwise and image wise, so it seems that the Brazilians know what they're doing.  Wink

Bring it on, Guns N' Roses and Rock In Rio collide yet again, while GN'R presents Chinese Democracy, Fuck Yes !!!!.  Grin

yeah, i remember people who went to the show talked about how amazing the sound was...just that on the broadcast for the first probably 8 songs all you heard in the mixing was Axl's vocals and Chris's keyboard and nothing else. and i agree on Rock in Rio 3 having a great sound and image to it. I hope this years rock in rio is more like that one.

But didn't that make Rock In Lisbon's version of Heavens Door really special, that synth driven sound really worked well for that song. Anyway, I'm just really excited for this show, and that nice little bit of trivia about the years is really brilliant, and now GN'R are going to rock more than ever.

I can just imagine the lights going down, and The General intro being played. And then the video screens turn red, and you hear a mirrage of Chinese voices. And then bOOM !!!, Chinese Democracy kicks in and everyone is going nuts.  Grin

yeah, definately agree on heavens door, probably my favorite performance of the song actually...i enjoyed IRS at that show too, just wish i could have heard bumblefoots solo...also i hope they have camera's ready on the guitarists during solo's...i was a little annoyed when robin would be soloing and you would see dizzy at the keyboard during the entire thing...or just a black space as tommy or somebody runs past.

i too am looking forward to watching the online stream, and hearing the intro and then boom chinese democracy...it will be epic to see in pro shot quality!

This is a dream about to become true! I just can't believe it! drool drool

I've always wanted to attend a Guns N' Roses' show at Rock in Rio! Really!

Last year's shows brought me a joy i've never experienced in my life so far. I don't say this just because of the shows, but for everything it's good, positive and priceless that those days brought to my life.  I've met a lot of people and shared stories that I'll fondly remember for as long as I live. And I'm extremely happy to know that this band, the only one capable of giving me something like this, is coming back here within a few months and give me that feeling again!

A Guns N' Roses' show isn't a common show, it's a lot more! Something you can't describe in words, it's something you have to participate to understand. And it's an experience that isn't limited by those minutes their up the stage destroying and kicking ass. To know we're going to get crazy again, together here and in person, this time at rock city, is something unique! Epic!

Please, October 2nd! Come fast! I'm ready for it!! BRING IT ON!!!!!!

Congratz Gunners !!! It's time to start saving and planning for RIO ! Hell yeah...

I was thinking, now that it's confirmed wouldn't it be a good idea for a separate thread with info for attendees outside of Brasil?
Like ticket info, flights, hotels, transport etc... I mean some sort of a Rock In Rio survival guide for foreigners and travel noobs...
As we know you can not compare RIR to even the biggest festivals here in Europe or US, Rio is really a huge festival...

Great, great news!

RIRIII in 2001 still stands as a benchmark; not only as a pure bad ass, rock n' roll concert, both reflective and original, but as one of the most memorable 'comeback' shows by a major entertainer/s. Ever. On par with Elvis in '68.

Axl's genuine interaction with the amazing crowd - after being away for so long - the band's striking originality and heartfelt performance, warts and all, makes RIRIII one for the history books. I remember reading a review where they called it THE show of the 00s. A bit early then! Ha!

The ending - the thank yous - with Axl and Beta (from and to) - transcended artforms or expression or performance. It was a glorious example of what real rock and roll can give both performers and audience, and what feeling you should be left with afterwards.

 peace

Fuckin' great news!! Better start saving some money, maybe if I save enough I can go.

It's a long shot though, but you never know. Smiley

I'm so happy for the Brazilian fans, they really made a effort to let the people who are organizing the whole thing that they want GN'R there.

Should be a great show, as always!!

Yeah, in 1991 the Illusion albums, 2001 the CD parts. But even if they don't play anything new this year I think people won't be disappointed.

Any thoughts about how many people will be there? Can they top the previous two shows from Rio?  Smiley

This time the capacity of the new Rock City was reduced to "only" 100.000 people. Anyway it'll be as amazing as the previous ones. Hoping for a little preview of CD II, though.
