You're not necessarily talking about the show, you're focusing on bad audio on a web stream...

Which has very little to do with this topic! Smiley

That's all.

It's 2011, not 2006. Why are some of you bringing that up all the time?

That's fair enough jarmo, but to the millions of fans all over the world who aren't able to attend, the stream is actually an important thing to them...

And more than a few people have mentioned the stream in this thread, and about what quality we can expect. If you think about how legendary the 2001 Rio footage became to fans, it's not hard to understand peoples concerns about the footage based on the last stream.

And for the record, my comment was in regards to another comment made by our own "Derby Tourism Embassador", not myself...  hihi

And Greg.... You know "Better" my son.  Grin

Yeah, if there's a web stream, of course it's important that it's the best possible quality.

But still, whatever happened with a web stream from a festival in Lisbon almost five years ago, has very little to do with what's going to happen in Rio de Janeiro in about five months.

I remember listening to RIR3 in 2001 online. A crappy low quality audio only stream from a Brazilian radio station.

Nobody's saying "I hope the sound will be better than it was in 2001".

Was it the bands responsibility to ensure a good stream too?  Using Reading and Glastonbury as a yard stick, the BBC was responsible for that, as are ITV2 for the Isle of Wight festival for the content broadcast....

To me this band are magic, but there are limits, I'll take what I can and be grateful for that.

So what are people hoping to see/hear at the show?

Anyone with any personal wishes from a GNR at Rock in Rio in 2011 show ?

I'm sure the sound was great at the concert and on TV. Listening to a Real Audio stream out of Brazil in 2001, it wasn't exactly cd quality.

Anyone with any personal wishes from a GNR at Rock in Rio in 2011 show ?

GREG

I'm hoping for some special moments, for example an Axl speech, or maybe new songs...

I also think that the band might change some of their stage clothes for this show, who knows. We might see Axl change his style yet again, or we might see Ron sport some unexpected clothes, or Tommy might wear a round top hat.

Anything can happen, and that's what I'm looking forward to.  Grin

I believe Brazillian TV will broadcast it, and we should get a rip from that. But for all those who haven't got access to Brazillian TV, there should also be a webstream, where fans can watch it live.

It's pretty similar to the 2006 set-up in regards to the television and webcasts.  Smiley

greeting`s from austria :be

Gn`R at Rock in Rio (october 2) will be the most important concert in 2011!

I was in GnR-concert in vienna 2010! Axl sound`s great. great audience, great crowd.

I think, this was the best crowd/audience on the last tour!
They played two and a half hour! With new and old song`s.
GunsnRoses are heroes in austria. But in the rest of the world too!

The greatest concert in my life!

To be honest, I don't think that the TV stream was any better than the webcast. The guitar and drums got less prominent, and the bass and synth got louder, just like the webcast. Some of the standout moments of this happening was during Sweet Child when Rons interlude solos were mute, and also Axls vocals cut out a few times during SCOM, and this is the TV broadcast I'm talking about.  nervous

But I don't want jarmo to get irritated because we've mentioned something to do with 06 again. Even if it is hard to do, seeing as past festivals of the same name are bound to be apart of this threads debate, as we are looking forward to October.  Roll Eyes

The Rock Am Ring footage was fine, the Download footage was fine, the KROQ stream was fine, the Reading footage on BBC was fine....

So you think that just because something happened at Rock In Rio Lisbon in 2006, the same will happen in 2011 in Rio de Janeiro if there is a web stream?

People are looking forward to the show, making plans, arranging travels etc., and some of you are going on and on about the 2006 web stream.

Wow.
