A man who witnesses said looked like former Guns N? Roses guitarist Slash robbed a thrift store in northeast Salem today, officials said.
The robbery was reported about 5:30 p.m. at Helping Paws Thrift Store, 3298 Lancaster Drive NE.
A man had been in the store a while before he walked up to an employee, showed a black handgun and demanded money, Marion County sheriff?s spokesman Don Thomson said.
The thrift store proceeds benefit abandoned and neglected animals.
The suspect fled on foot after grabbing cash and evaded a search by law enforcement.
The suspect is described as white, in his 30s, about 5 feet 4 inches tall with thin build. He was wearing a long black wig under a black-brimmed hat, a black or gray North Face similar style jacket, black pants, white shoes and clear medical gloves.
