The Uncasville date is bogus, at least according to the folk who run that arena.

I wish this was true, but how can you have a show in 5 weeks that is not officially announced?

I'm guessing this was a tentative list... hopefully we'll see legit dates roll out in the near future. This summer is looking weak on shows right now, I definitely have the cash (and a few interested people) if they swing by this way again.

also, is it possible to have a bull-riding event at 1pm and still have time to set up for a concert that evening? i know GnR's stage would be on the high-end of the spectrum regarding time to set up their stage, but i have a feeling it would be possible.

Prolly not impossible but that would be a huge stretch, I think.  They'd only have a couple hours to tear down everything from the PBR event and get it out of there before setting up for the opening act . . .  Besides, this popped up a couple weeks ago, what purpose would be served by having tour dates nailed down and sitting on that info until the last minute rather than announcing it and allowing people to buy tickets?

That's funny.  I live near 2 of those venues and they are tiny.  I would think that instead of playing Merriwether Post Pavilion that they would go less than an hour away and play RFK again or a larger DC  or Maryland venue.

So any of you guys in the states who have Pointfest, you getting GNR played on the sponsoring station? They are doing it pretty regular here, right before they hype up the festival. They never play GNR, not even on shuffle. And festival is at the same place where the St. Louis riot was. We just had the pigeon incidence with Kings of Leon last year--lol Yeah Axl ain't going to stand for that shit either. I'd never believe it was possible but the line up gets announced on the 25th.

Anyone in the area notice this?

Merriweather Post is plenty big- I saw Priest & 1 of Dio's last performances there last year  with Heaven & Hell before he died- holds like 15,000-20,000- normal size for a GnR show

lol I didn't mean to say you knew shit, but it is an interesting theory, and radio stations around here did just that when GN'R came to town in the past. Also, Disturbed was rumoured to be playing but looks like that isn't happening so they need someone...

Yeah you kind of freaked me out throwing my name out there.  Let me tell you I smoke too much to out run Axl and his lawyer scares the shit out of me.  Plus some of the fans are like pits bulls!  You never want them on your tail.  I'm just hanging out.

I live in St. Louis, I listen to the point regularly, and have never heard GnR before they talk about pointfest.  In fact, it hasn't been officially announced.  They just randomly talk about it because it happens every year.

Jim Koplik elaborates on ?rumblings about a GN?R tour?

Jim Koplik, American concert promoter, reported to WCCC there were ?rumblings about a GN?R tour?.

Koplik was pressed again on the matter during ?6 Concert Questions with Koplik?:

Quote
?Nothing new. But I do think you?ll see them in Connecticut? uhm, don?t know where? uhm, uhm? it will be at this point? I, I? I think it will be before the end of the year? so uhm I think you?ll see GN?R by the end of the year in Connecticut somewhere.?

The interviewer then concluded by suggesting GN?R was a ?possibility? to which Koplink responded ?Yep?.

The GN?R aspect of the podcast can be caught at about 10:40: http://nyc03.egihosting.com:8002/wccc/6_Concert_Questions_with_Karolyi_and_Koplik_for_Friday_June_24_2011.mp3
