so. design the show.

stage, setlist but remember it has to fit 12 minutes and def would include Jungle and PC

so our jobs here is to design the show

which stage?

any guest stars?
cover songs?

The stage would probably be circular, with pyro around the edges. Nothing too elaborate (out of all the people with an elaborate performance, only Michael Jackson and Prince have managed to pull it off from what I've seen).

Axl's Clothes: Knowing Axl, he'd come out in full football uniform (minus the helmet obviously) for whichever team he is rooting for.
Setlist:

Welcome To The Jungle (intro/first verse/first chorus)
Gimme Shelter (duet with Mick Jagger - and if not Mick, with Keith Richards or Ronnie Wood on guitar, and maybe someone like Christina Aguilera on backing vocals)
Better
Paradise City (outro)

Def WTTJ as the intro verse chorus into the outro of song 2 mins
 knockin on Heaven's Door 2 mins verse chorus then the i sing one u sing one sing along.
right into Better intro no vocal just the guitar melody verse chorus jump ahead to guitar breakdown and the never wanted u to be so full of anger part 3 mins
SCOM 2 mins intro verse chorus
finish off with huge Paradise City outro

In a perfect world I could see it going down like this:

2 round stages connected by a semi circle ramp

The show starts with the band on the left stage (right stage is dark), DJ behind the drum riser playing the opening of CD. They make it through a few verses of CD (with solo)... Axl makes his way the the center of the ramp. Left stage goes dark, Right stage lights up to some version of the old band (maybe no Slash and DJ comes across with Axl). The launch into Jungle... Back to left stage and Better... both stages play Paradise City.

It would need to be somethign similar to that for them to get a gig like the Super Bowl.

On the Jumbo-Tron, sponsored by Snickers, you've got Axl kickin' back back-stage acting like a diva..."No, no, NO!  I want the guns over here, and the roses over there!"
Tommy comes over and gives Axl a Snickers...camera points at the rest of the band watching to see Axl change from a diva...
Camera rolls back to Axl...Axl smiles...
"Nope, I'm still a fuckin' asshole!" 
Cue straight to DJ up on the speaker under spotlight ripping into CD or Jungle.   yes

Somehow I'd want a transition into the song I believe features Axl's voice the best...This I Love.  Fuck, they could have those dancers that dance up 100' long fabrics doing aerial acrobatics ...

Now, since all that'll never happen, I think our only sliver of hope would be to get Axl doing a small portion of the show...perhaps a duet with a hot chick that digs his songs, perhaps Aguilera or Underwood.

Lights out.
- Jungle starts (and the crowd goes wild!)
With some badass bombs
- Madagascar (blue lights and some great clips on jumbotron)

I like how they did it in VMA's. Even though Axls voice was bad, the transmission between the songs gave me chills. And after Maddy

- Sweet Child (Back to classics, red lights, GN'R stuff on jumbotron)
- Better (Darker GN'R stuff)
- Paradise City (Ultimate Closer. Big bombs. Confettis. GUITARS!! Everybody goes nuts.)


Optinal classics: November Rain (maybe too long), KOHD, YCBM or Nightrain. But I'd rather go with that.

Oakland Raiders of course, and the setlist.. wttj is always used in football games before the kickoff so it would be a wise choice, then ycbm/lald [any of both], scom and ending with PC a real classic set, the stage... a lot of fire and pyros.
