I could be mistaken, but I always thought that it was actually Prince who played this with him.
Had this on the b-side of the Believe Me single

Jeff Beck and Lenny Kravitz guest, but I don't know about that song.

Here's an interview with Duff from 1993 where he talks about the album.

Slash also covered Prince. He recorded "Peach" with Rod Stewart in 2001 : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peach_%28song%29

I just hunted down my girlfriend's copy of the Believe In Me single (of which this track is a B-Side) to see if I could find out who played on it. Unfortunately, though, there are no credits for the song besides the usual writing credit and publisher details.

If it's anything like the album though, Duff probably played all the instruments himself - there were guests on the album, but it was 90% Duff.

Maybe it's Slash playing? Cracked Actor is the other b-side and could also be Slash. I mean Slash played on the Believe in me song!

I have no idea in regards to the original posters question.

But what I do know and I'm sure many others do, is that Duff is a huge fan of Prince. And he even goes so far as to list him as one of his many influences, so I guess it's a possibility that he covered one of his songs.  Huh
