I bet it's Sweet Child O' Mine -- or part of the song.

Well, I was right.

What an embarrassment.

The BEP looked and sounded bad throughout and guess who pops out of the stage. Of course, Mr. Hudson butchering a timeless GnR classic. Nice job.

Axl must have had a good laugh at halftime.

Nope. I bet Axl Rose trending was not the response Slash wanted when he agreed to do this.

I can't believe how bad that performance was. Not one person around me or online liked it, not even Slash's fans.

haha, you guys are nuts. The halftime show in general was a tragedy, yeah, but Slash's part wasn't bad, you just seem to want it to be. Not sure why a GNR "fan" would root for someone responsible for it's success to fail, but seem to be a lot of brainwashed opinions here.

Slash can't "sell out". He's already a guitar legend, like it or not. Attention whore? He clearly likes to perform live, which you should have figured out by the profession he chose.

I can't stand the Black eyed peas or Usher, and so I'm not surprised how horrendous their performances were, and not gonna say I needed to see Slash up there with them, but if there was anything remotely redeeming about the show it was him(and the Fergie eye candy). He's not a miracle worker, so ones gonna make Usher sound good. The bedazzled hat he was wearing was pretty rough, but guess that's nit picking. It's his song, he can play it where he wants. As GNR fans we should be happy he helps keep the name relevant, more so than the current lineup, at least here in the states. If anything, he helps sell tickets because casual fans prob don't realize he left. As much as I appreciate Ashba and Finck, I can assure you most if not all casual fans would be very disappointed to see/hear them playing SCOM in place of the man who created it(witnessed it a few times). I think the Axl vs Slash war gets to people heads. Leave that to them. They are both some of the best at what they do, and are both partially responsible for each others success. I don't think even they are rooting for each other to fail, though who knows, or cares?

Some of the faithful seem to think this was some sort of legacy tarnishing crime against mankind. Roll Eyes

Better get over it...

Like him or not, the guy's is flat out bulletproof and able to do whatever he wants with whomever he wants with zero damage to his reputation.

Not so sure about that.  By the amount of twitter post about his horrendous performance, and people laughing at him....I think that his reputation is altered....

And on twitter, a lot of people don't even know what is happening between Axl and Slash

Good video here:

SLASH Performs 'Sweet Child' With BLACK EYED PEAS During SUPER BOWL (Video) - Feb. 6, 2011

VELVET REVOLVER/ex-GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Slash performed earlier today (Sunday, February 6) during the Super Bowl halftime show at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas. Slash joined the BLACK EYED PEAS, who were the main halftime act for the NFL championship game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers, for a rendition of the GN'R classic "Sweet Child O' Mine". You can now watch video footage of his appearance below.

Try not let upset you so badly. Smiley And maybe Axl can help  save GNR face by refusing the royality check he will get from the renewed sales.

Doesn't make the appearance any less of an embarrassment. Perhaps his rep isn't altered in the mainstream, but, as Guns fans, it is more than sad to see such a spectacle.

No way that performance boosts any sales. It was terrible. Had people liked it, Slash and Fergie would have trended. Instead, Twitter was full of people saying how bad it was and how Axl was probably upset.

Glee would have boosted sales more than that. At least those people can somewhat sing.

To each his own I suppose, I get more embarrassed everytime I hear the name Sebastian Bach mentioned in regards to Velvet Revolver.

That was probably the worst super bowl halftime performance I've ever witnessed. Slash was the high point along with those boxes they were wearing as hats.

I don't see the big deal about Fergie.
