For the City Winery NYC show, a 2nd show has been added. Same night, later time, 11pm

http://www.citywinery.com/events/141594

"By Popular Demand". I'll say it's for Tommy, that a 2nd show has been added!

I'd love for Tommy to swing by Detroit at some point.

I'm heading to my first Tommy Stinson concert next month. I'm pretty excited. What should I expect from his setlist?

My Peoples,

It?s been too long since I updated this site. As of late I have been totally consumed with moving from Pennsylvania to New York state and rehearsing for upcoming shows in Arlington, Philly, New York, and Boston.

I didn?t even know why I said yes to the first show in NYC until I started putting a set together ? then it felt like something I needed to do. I decided it had been way too long since I got out and played some of my own songs, even stripped-down, as these shows will be. These four shows will be just me, an acoustic guitar, a fianc?e (Emily Roberts), with special guests/friends to play different shows. I will have a Figg (Mike Gent) in 3 of four cities, an uncle in-law (Chip Roberts), and a George Manney in Philly, and a Frank Ferrer in NYC. Should be a fun trip. Well, at least for me (hopefully).

I have been touring with GnR and Soul Asylum for so much of the last 4 years, that I nearly forgot I had amassed enough new material for a new record. So here goes ? my first little romp through the tulips before putting out a new record. Gonna see how they stand up, or fall to pieces. Here are the dates and the cities and venues. Hope to see you there!

Just got my tickets for the Philly show! Should be a good time. I haven't been to the North Star in over 15 years but from what i remember it was a pretty cool place. Looks like they have some good shows there, and they're all around 8-10 bucks.

Hello my Peoples,

I know I'm a little late in getting this note out to you, but we've been really busy over here at HQ getting ready for my first solo shows in what seems like an eternity. My fiancee Emily and I were joined by Mike Gent from The Figgs last night in Arlington, VA and it was a great time, if but a little sloppy. Tonight we're at the North Star Bar in Philly, then off for two shows with Jesse Malin at City Winery in NYC on Saturday, and the Church Of Boston on Sunday. All the info is on the main page of tommystinson.com if you need more info. Hope to see you there! If you can't make it, rest assured that my new album is coming along nicely and will definitely come out this year, and I'll do my best to play shows all over the place as soon as that happens.

Thanks and love!

I went last night to City Winery, the early show. Took some vids-enjoy!Never been to City Winery. Very nice and pleasant. They have an AMAZING array of wines.

I just went to see Tommy and left after his set. SO HAPPY I WENT!! The man is just a genius. Just exudes coolness beyond belief. And what a bonus-Mike from the Figgs (who are BEYOND cool and amazing live), Tommy's fiance (very nice on the eyes beyond a stellar sweet voice) and Frank Ferrer on percussion.

He played some new songs from the forthcoming album, which he said should HOPEFULLY (don't quote me) drop around May/June. I don't know a setlist, much appreciated for any information. Sorry the last two are blurry (a mix of being seated far at the bar and about 2 big goblets of a brilliant Italian Montepulciano red). I still can't figure how to compress the files in camera to shoot more of the song. Then again trying to hold the zoom camera and a drink for the entire time..... Grin

If everyone out there in HTGTHLand can (if not already): Get EVERYTHING Tommy has ever done (Replacements, Bash N' Pop, Perfect, solo), Get everything or check out The Figgs (brilliant Power Pop for the past 20+ years). And while you're at it, check out Frank's old band, The Beautiful (the 'Storybook' album).

Had a great time at the show in Philly. Got right up front. There was a chick with HUGE boobs hanging out next to me -- cigarettes were tucked in one and she was using her cleavage as a cell phone holder -- so, of course i struck up a conversation with her and her friend. Asked what brought them to the show -- turns out they work with Tommy's future mother-in-law and they came with her. She was with them so i started chatting with her. Very cool lady. Told her the dude i was with and I drove up to Toronto to see GnR last year and she told us she was there, too -- but didn't make it to the show because she was babysitting for Tommy and her daughter. She said she's been all over with the band so of course I asked if she ever met Axl. She said she met everyone else -- including Beta and her family -- but not Axl. But she said he seems like a very interesting character. Anyway, the show was great, the guy playing guitar with him is incredible, and Tommy's future wife is very sexy and her voice complements Tommy's nicely on the songs they did together and you could tell they really enjoyed being onstage together (Tommy started alone, she joined him, followed by the guitarist and drummer, then Tommy and his girl, then just Tommy alone again. Very cool transitions throughout the show). Tommy did mention that he's had a great time touring with GnR but sometimes it's nice to get onstage and play some songs without a Marshall amp set at 11 blaring in your ear. Seems like a really cool guy, it was cool as hell to see him in such an intimate venue (the North Star was way smaller than I remembered). I talked to his future mother-in-law after the show and it was obvious she is very proud of her daughter and Tommy.  Anyway, it was a great show and I just thought it was a cool added bonus to meet his fiancee's Mom.  If you get a chance, go check him out. (missed the first band but the second guy did a cool chupacabra song and an awesome solo acoustic version of "Beth" by Kiss).
