Dj has gotten some cool feedback, from some unlikely places.

From New York Times reporter Joe Drape:

Only in the Kansas City Chiefs Kingdom, does Gun'N'Roses guitarist DJ Ashba performing National Anthem. Go Chiefs! http://bit.ly/gxleLA

@joedrape Thank you Mr. R for making me aware of the progressive ways of the KC Chiefs, and the fans in their kingdom.

LOL didn't even think of that!  It's part of his religion though so it's ok ok

No.  It's not ok.

I know it was NOT intentional and  I understand that he must have been very excited and maybe even a little nervous.

I'm sure he wanted to do it to the best of his abilities .... WHICH HE DID!!!

He himself even said what an honor it is.

It's just that someone in his entourage should have just pointed it out to him.

If you know it is not intentional, then there is no need to bring it up.

This is about DJ's performance, not his attire or what was more than likely an unintentional oversight, and his performance was great.

Anyways, I really like when DJ uses the wah. I wish he used it on Street of Dreams and SCOM ending too.

Oh, BTW, @cotis: http://gizmodo.com/5697423/psa-please-turn-your-damn-cellphone-sideways-when-recording-video

That's only when he's on roofies :-)

Btw why wouldn't it be ok to wear the hat? Just notice the pic, the girl on the right is wearing a cap and 3 of the photographers as well... don't see your point !

Cheers

Well, before the National Anthem is performed at ALL sporting events in the US, the announcement that is given is "everyone please rise and remove your hats for the National Anthem".  It's a sign of respect, tradition.  I do it, most people do, not all.  I don't get upset when people don't do it, or forget.  But in my mind, they should.

Regardless, great to see DJ out there doing his thing and getting some recognition.

Yes, I love how DJ walks off in the end, and just passes his guitar to Chris, very cool.  Cool
