This sound excellent.  I would be in at $1000...maybe more depending on the type of event, access to band, etc

yeah for $1000 each we should be able to get more than just the show

no just saying that $1000 dollars is a lot to see a show and then leave i would pay it but something extra should be added it doesnt have to be meet n' greets

I disagree. This band doesnt charge for meet and greets, nor does it shove ?20 photo-filled programmes down your throat.

The $1000 was our figure, based on private show calculations from the Russian gig.

Don't think its worth it? Then don't pay it.

It's all speculation anyway, but you make it sound like the band are trying to rip us off  confused

There could be different packages, depending on what route is taken.

Gold Donator, Silver Donator, Bronze Donator, etc.

this is a good plan because every little bit helps and we are all fans here

i highly doubt this community can organize it in a fair cool way (yet) themselves. look at the post from "charl!edontsurf", some good stuff in there, exspecially about to learn from the Pearl Jam club! cool solution would indeed be the band doing some smaller shows here and there but thats up to them mostly.

I think the closest this has to happening is jarmos' scenario, where they play a little venue and have an exclusive pre sale.

I don't know why people are talking about donating sums like $1000, GN'R don't need the money and I doubt they would charge their hardcore fans such a sum. Also just because they flew to Russia to play a show for a large amount of money, doesn't mean they would do the same to their fanbase.

The guy was probably stinking rich and had a few special requests from Guns, which is fine.

(But then again, I'm not saying I wouldn't pay such an amount if it meant being there in a small club with GN'R.)  yes

- This band desperately needs some kind of fan club. Social media may rule today, but that doesn't mean listing shows on Facebook or Twitter is a viable way of communicating with all fans. The problem is that fan clubs are generally tacky and a rip-off. Also, Pre-sales on Ticketmaster generally don't give GREAT seats away. Usually, they are pre-assigned blocks that may/may not be better than the general sale. Look to Pearl Jam for how to 'fix' this problem. Ten Club is probably the best fan club in the world.

- Guns should look into pro-recorded live bootlegs as a passive form of income. In this day and age, you might sell more bootlegs than albums. Everyone wants to hear Paradise City with their city's name ringing out at the end. If Metallica can offer this, anyone can. (Quick aside: Slash offered live recordings of his solo shows available 20 mins after the show for $20.00 - Calgary, AB.) If the videos/songs are going to be on Youtube anyways, you might as well give the fans proper recordings instead of muffled crap.

Excellent points.  ok

cool idea....but i think the only way it would work would be jarmo's idea, a presale where us fanatics get first access to tickets.

i'm totally in, but.....it has to be continental usa, i don't do airplanes.

Let us know the exact venue you'd like and we'll make sure it happens there...  Grin

j/k...

This is why this idea is NOT that good...

Unless the band organizes this whole thing with presales, it won't happen...

I think this happening is unlikely, but it would be cool. A couple years back, I saw the Starf*ckers (Dizzy, Gilby, & some others) play at a small Orlando nightclub. Initially, I was debating whether or not I wanted to pay the $35 cover to get in the door. I did, and the show was great. I was probably one of about 40-50 people there, and I stood about 6 feet from Dizzy and Gilby for the whole show. I did a shot with each of them and I got to hear Dizzy sing a bizarre cover of Welcome To the Jungle while playing the keyboards.

Hindsight, I would have payed double what I did to see the same again. Gilby's playing was spot on all night. A great guy too, btw. I also didn't know just how much Dizzy likes his jagermeister.

I always have a way of missing the secret GN'R shows.  hihi

So I can only wish that something like this happens, but since the European leg is over, I too feel this is very unlikely.

But we can hope...

Yeah its the same.  Roll Eyes

the same without the morons who throw shit and try and ruin everyones fun.

whoever mentioned pearl jam's 10 club they do small shows for 10club members, it's a bitch trying to get tickets but you know everyone in there is a huge fan and it makes for a great show. photo ID on entry to pick up tickets.

or go the RATM "free show" route where there were photos printed onto the tickets, for smaller shows. stops the touts and with pre-sale would lessen the chance of idiots attending.
