Wow, I heard about the OD on Stern the other day.  Didn't think it'd come to this though.  He was a funny guy.  I know other comedians would poke fun at him for not being relevant and only doing roasts.  But he was damn good on those roasts.  Yet another reason to not mess around with drugs.  It's all fun and games until someone accidentally overdoses and dies.

RIP Greg.  And condolences to his family and friends.

Prescription pills ARE drugs.

Yes I know and so is cannabis.

But the point is, it doesn't say that those were illegally obtained or that he used them just to get high.

Accidents happen, sometimes people overdose, my friend was once prescribed pain med with way too high dosage and she overdosed from a single dose.

Yes they do say that about comedians, but like RR just said, it seems this was totally accidental...

My question is... 4 days in the hospital?? Seems like they should have been able to keep him alive... But who knows

@RockinRose - I realize accidents happen.  I had a friend who died due to an allergic reaction to the wrong medication. Unfortunately, medical negligence does occur. 

But in this case, Greg was "partying" in his hotel room with friends. So I'm assuming he was mixing pills, drugs, alcohol, what have you.  I would find it hard to believe that he had a party in his hotel room with friends and stayed sober outside of his recommended dosage. 

It appears to me that he was just trying to have a good time and things got out of control.  I guess we'll have to wait for the toxicology results to be positive, but that's my speculation.

one of my best friends died this way

she was on Methadone pills which speed u up, she then took Xanax to go to sleep and the fast,slow affect stopped her heart.
