As we all know there will always be a gap between the support act and Guns going on stage. This is to do with the stage set-up, sound levels, Pyros and all kinds of stuff.

Now obviously some people get bored during this time. They get drunk, they get impatient and they get irritable.

I think that the crowd could be kept happier with the following ideas:

1) show some music videos on the big screens, maybe interspersed with some short clips of the band to build the anticipation. could be paid for by ads...
2) show girls in the crowd flashing their boobs. everyone likes boobs. especially me. (this is my favourite idea  Grin)
3) have ron come out and maybe do a short (10-minute or so) set of solo stuff. wouldn't take a lot of setting up - the rest of the stage could have a curtain in front so the set-up could continue. Make sure that this set is advertised so fans will know to expect it.

Also, are the stage times displayed in the arena? If the crowd know not to expect Guns until 22:30 they won't get pissy at 22:05.

Just ideas - something needs to change.

those are a few solutions as to the ontime stage on the ticket... or when to expect them.
but would it help

wouldn't the same people ruin the show even if gnr started on say like 19:00?

They should certainly consider some of the above idea's.  Video's would be a good idea and keep people settled.

Its becoming predictable on this tour.  At many shows, the band have gone on later than planned to a chorus of boo's and some bottles.  how many times has Axl stopped the set during the first 2 songs and threatened to leave on this tour alone?  The crowds in the states will be just as tough.

how was it at the beginning of the tour ?  where they "late" on stage ??  Personally I don?t care if they are 10 or 120min late, as long they play =))

I cant remember what it was like in Asia... but in Canada, South America and now Europe the band has been late quite frequently resulting in impatient, hostile crowds.

I don't really see idea 3 working out that well.. He's part of the climax so he shouldn't be part of the build op.
Option 1 is great and option 2 has been done many times and will be done many more times, I think Wink

Hi  There,

I was in the Dublin Concert 1st of September 2010.  It was live entertainment! However I was appalled at the bottle throwing incident , and how shameful of the idiots
throwing bottles, then this boo ing ect... The pure & basic fact of the matter is they were pissed  and uncivilised, they then sobered up, the O2 security was scanty.Look I was also waiting and a little peeved , however  that is sometimes the way it is. When guns n roses came out on stage my adreline was pumping, I found there were terrific and I was not a fan at all I liked their music , I brought my son well I am  now a very big fan!

I would not like to see music clips the build up of seeing your favourite group diminishes?
However next time I certainely would not be there so early , perhaps it could state on ticket possible late arrival for the dont knows?  Smiley

all he really has to do is communicate with the fans, let us know whats goin on and that usually perks up the fanbase.

another album sure wouldn't hurt either or at least talks of another one being in the works.
