SLASH Filming 'Beautiful Dangerous' Video - Aug. 27, 2010

Legendary guitarist Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, GUNS N' ROSES) is filming a video today (Friday, August 27) for the song "Beautiful Dangerous" with guest singer Fergie (a.k.a. Stacy Ann Ferguson). Slash says, "[The] concept is twisted; Fergie's idea."

"Beautiful Dangerous" comes off Slash's all-star collaborations album, simply titled "Slash", which scored the highest new entry on The Billboard 200 chart in early April, with first-week U.S. sales of around 60,000 copies. TheCD, which was released in North America on April 6 via EMI Label Services, features an all-star roster of guest musicians, including Ian Astbury, Chris Cornell, Rocco DeLuca, Fergie, Dave Grohl, Myles Kennedy, Kid Rock, Lemmy Kilmister, Adam Levine, Duff McKagan, M. Shadows of AVENGED SEVENFOLD, Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, and Andrew Stockdale of WOLFMOTHER.

I still don't believe the song will be the smash hit that some are claiming, never have.  I just don't think "rock" fans are interested in hearing Fergie sing "rock", and I don't think Fergie fans are all that interested in hearing her step away from the hip hop/pop world either.  I just don't see rock or pop stations putting this in heavy rotation.  It's too out there for each of them for different reasons.  And I really dig the song.

I will say though, I do remember the song selling pretty well on iTunes initially, so I guess that could/should be an indicator of something.  And I am quite interested in seeing the video.  So I have a good reason to stare at Fergie and hear a good tune all at once.

I think it'll might be a success as well. While I do agree that fans from the rock and hip hop genre have no interest in seeing Fergie do rock permanently, a lot of people will be curious about the song and the video will help deliver it. You can be a hip hop fan and still like a rock track or two and vice versa. If Axl were to collaborate with a hip-hop artist (God forbid, touchwood), would or would you not be interested in the song?

Black Eyed Peas fucking suck and are terrible but geez have u seen their singles? They are monsters. Fergie's solo shit did HUGE as well.

no reason this won't do big as well, especially with Fergie really pushing it.

This song is "rock" but it  isn't like Metallica or something. It is still pretty poppy imo.
