Hey guys,

I'm one of the mods over at MYGNR and we're organising a bit of a meetup and trying to help those travelling with travel arrangements. Would love to meet up with some of you lot for a brew or two as well, so once the rest of the show threads are up in On tour, i'll include the members from our board going - and any of you guys that want to meet up are more than welcome to PM me here or over on MYGNR.  peace

I see according to the gnr myspace there has been an extra concert added in both Adelaide and Perth.

http://www.myspace.com/gunsnroses

They are both on the same day as the first concerts just late in the arvo with the original concerts on that same night.

The Perth one is actually in a different location too.  That's great I will get to see GNR twice in the same day!  Just wondering if anyone can confirm if this is accurate.  I mean if it's on their myspace then I assume it's true?  I just can't find tickets to the Perth one that's all, or any mention of it anyhwere else??  The link on myspace only takes you through to purchase tickets for the Motorplex gig that night which I already have my tickets for, I can't find where to buy the Supreme Court Gardenes one?

Hmm maybe?  The Adelaide one certainly implies what you said.  The newly added gig is at 5:00pm and the second one at 7:00pm - same venue.  Seems like they just moved it forward??

Which would make you think maybe they moved the Perth gig venue??

I dunno, maybe new agreements.. Better wait for official news or their Facebook - seems more updated than the myspace.

Bikie alert at Guns 'n Roses December Kwinana Motorplex concert

October 12, 2010

A LOCAL council is demanding specialist gang crime police and extra security to patrol Perth's Guns N' Roses concert in December, which will be held at the same venue as last Sunday's bikie shooting.

Let's hope it is changed to the Supreme Court Gardens!  Best location for a gig.  Outdoor, near river, right in City. Only problem could be the late finishes that GN'R are renowned for! lol

I sent email to promoter, hopefully I get a reply Smiley

Police to mingle with fans

12/Nov/2010

Site manager Tim Bradsmith with Perth Motorplex general manager Kevin Prendegast... ?everyone who attends the Guns ?N? Roses concert should feel safe?.

POLICE will have a ?strong? presence at next month?s Guns ?N? Roses concert at the Perth Motorplex in Kwinana Beach but say they expect no problems like last month?s bikie brawl.

The complex management, police, the Town of Kwinana and the promoter will finalise security plans in the coming days for the concert on December 11, which is expected to draw up to 15,000 people.

Peel District Office Inspector Peter Hatch said police were working closely with all parties to plan for the event.

?There will be a strong police presence at the concert to deter any potential offending or antisocial behaviour,? he said.

?However, for operational reasons it is not proposed to elaborate on the numbers of police attending or the areas they will be drawn from.?

A brawl between rival gangs at a motorcycle drag event last month left three Finks gang members in hospital.

Motorplex general manager Kevin Prendergast said the ?level? of the incident was not yet known but concert-goers should feel safe at the complex.

?That was a one-off incident,? he said. ?We are obviously disappointed but we are working our way through any issues for the concert with the police and events promoter.

?We take on board anything we learn from it but we don?t believe it has impacted this event. It could have happened anywhere.?

Mr Prendergast said the motorplex hosted about 120 events each season attended by 250,000 people and had recorded 2.5 million visitors in 10 years.

?The concert is a great event to have for us and this region and we look forward to it,? he said.

Kwinana officer in charge Senior Sergeant Trevor Troy said police had no information to suggest a repeat of the brawl.

He said police would maintain a presence at the event and surrounding suburb, but would only play a supporting role to motorplex security staff.

?We will take our lead from their security,? he said.

?We don?t expect any problems and police would most likely just patrol the gate and car park area,? he said.

About 150 security staff were expected to be at the event.

New support acts added to the Sydney date! Anyone familiar with the bands?

A stellar Aussie double will support rock icons Guns N? Roses when the infamous band hit the stage at ANZ Stadium as part of the Sydney Telstra 500.

V8 Supercars Australia has announced popular rock band Spiderbait and talented newcomers, The Delta Riggs, have been added to the Saturday 4 December concert bill.

Guns N? Roses will headline the gig which will take place at ANZ Stadium after all the thrills and spills of the day?s racing.

Spiderbait drummer Kram said: ?I?m absolutely stoked for Spiderbait to be supporting the legendary Guns N? Roses at the V8 Supercars in Sydney.

?An event like this will be awesome and we can?t wait to rip it up.

?Rock ?n? Roll always goes great with fast cars!?

A Melbourne-based three-piece, Spiderbait have enjoyed two top ten albums and are best known for songs such as Buy Me a Pony, Calypso and their 2004 cover of Black Betty. The Delta Riggs are relative newcomers but quickly securing a legion of fans thanks to their rhythm and blues/rock and roll fusion.

On Sunday 5 December, The Angels, Mondo Rock and James Reyne will provide the tunes in the Family Zone (external to the Stadium) while Tony Hawk, arguably the world?s greatest skateboarder, and his team will deliver daily shows at the Sydney Olympic Park skate complex.

To ensure fans don?t miss a moment of the action, V8 Supercars has released a one-off Rock ?n? Race weekend pass. At just $116, the pass covers all Saturday and Sunday entertainment, representing extraordinary value.

V8 Supercars Australia Chief Operating Officer Shane Howard said the additional entertainment offered a sensational weekend.

"Spiderbait is an iconic name in the Australian music industry and a perfect mix with the Gunners and I'm especially proud that The Delta Riggs has the opportunity to share the stage as young entertainers making their name on the Australian scene,? he said.

In 2009, more than 184,000 people raced by day and rocked all night across three days of non-stop entertainment.

The streets of Sydney Olympic Park will once again ignite from Friday December 3 to Sunday December 5 as V8 Supercars push the limits at the season?s final battle.

The Sydney Telstra 500 is the Grand Final of the V8 Supercar Championship Series and is set to deliver explosive action both on and off the track next month.

Shame Spiderbait aren't playing in Perth too.  I wouldn't mind seeing them just for a bit of nostalgia, I didn't mind a few of their songs back in the day.

Love that poster too, way better than the poster for the 2007 tour.  I've got myself one of the subway posters for the Perth gig, just gotta get is signed now  Grin

I can't wait to see how these Australian dates go, definitely an exciting time for the band as well as the fans. I wonder if DJ has ever been to Australia?. I know he had never been to Brazil before the GN'R tour, so this must be thrilling for him to be seeing all these places for the first time.

I'm familiar with Spiderbait. An Australian band that was pretty successful for a few years. They've been apart for a few years now doing solo stuff, but it's good to see them doing this show and perhaps some more...

Here's a few of their hits, so people know what they will likely see prior to GnR taking the stage!
