Meldrum is a very reliable source but Townsville makes no sense at all to me. Especially over nearby Brisbane and also Melbourne.

Perhaps there is a festival I'm unaware of? My guess is he rang around his contacts and got some reasonable info but it is really hard to fathom.

Interesting to say the least.

Axl and the band really disliked to main concert arena in Perth last time round from memory. I'm going to start saving for Adelaide just in case. Two shows would be amazing.

According to ticketmaster there will be three opening acts in Reid Park, with the gates opening at 4pm.

Gates - 4.00pm
Act 1 - 4.30-5pm
Act 2 - 5.30-6pm
Korn - 6.30-7.30pm
Guns N Roses - 8.00-10pm

Korn are, out of all the crappy nu-metal acts, the one that stands out as actually being decent. I'd love to see that pairing in North America.
