^ I think the 2001 HOB version was already flawless.
well, I prefer the raw industrial rock studio version, both 2001 bootlegs sound strange to me

Its my favorite GNR song from the new line ups, but i lost my hope on hearing it live... I dont think Axl cant handle that song anymore anyways... not to put in a bad word, Axl is amazing and still has a great great range for his rage, but he barely makes it when he sings songs like Scraped, so i doubt he's able to keep up his voice through the whole song of Oh My God, prove me wrong Axl, maybe?

anyways lost my hope on this one, and this is probably the reason its not even being played since 2002

I dont think Axl is too keen to release this song either, on the chats it looked like that was a project that got put aside after awhile and it didnt look like Axl is gonna want to release it.

Quite frankly most of the players on that song are not there anymore, so just for that it would be very hard to play it live.

Buckethead, robin, Navarro,Brian, Tobias etc... so just for that it would be almost impossible to be played live unless the new band had rehearsed it, which i dont think it happened. To me what killed that song was the fact that it was previously released as a demo, so to me that was pretty much what led Axl become uninterested by it, which sounds like when he spoke about it on the chats.

But that song really has a special private meaning for me, and if i could ask for one song, Oh My God would be the one.

I would prefer to hear  the new version of Oh My God then any of the new songs being made now... The General, Atlas or whatever... i would prefer listening to a new version of Oh My God if i had the choice! crying

The rock in rio 3 version is the best version to me cause u can actually have a better idea on how the studio finished version of that song would sound like. The background sounds are incredible!

I love Oh My God and it gave me chills to hear Axl's voice once again over an Arnold movie.

But god damn, from the 2 live versions I've heard (January 1st 2001, Las Vegas & and RIR III), the song is ghastly live. It's just noise. It sounds a mess.

Why are you reading this?

Sorry folks, but I've never really dug either the studio or live versions of Oh My God. To me it just sounds like a mess overall, which is a shame, because I can hear a lot of good ideas in there. ('What can I do when theres so many liars/that crawl through my veins like millions of spiders' is one of my favourite lyrics ever, by Axl or anyone else)
.
I think we have a better chance at Estranged live then Oh My God.  Although I do love the song. Wish it was on Itunes drool

It is on iTunes (at least it is in the UK store).

Based on your theory here , nothing for 87-93 should be played either

Even though axl messed up at the end, I thought it made that part sound really cool, him singing but the band had finished

Maybe, like Halo69 said, I elevate this song because it meant so much to me personally to hear Axl's voice again after so many years. I admit that's part of the attraction but even if it was on AFD or Illusions I'm sure I would still like it. It's raw, rough and violent sounding. In other words, sounds like Axl. ok

Great song. It needs to be released on an album, Axl said they've been working on it, right?

I haven't listened to this for the longest time (largely because I usually listen to entire albums...and one GNR song does not an album make), but I've always enjoyed it and would like to see a finalized version out there someday.

In the online chats, Axl said it's been reworked.

That is actually an easy song as I hear it.

If you listen to his voice around the 'I been thought just to murder and fight this' it is actually REALLY really low. And then with a little rasp added, which he does pretty well now. Then the high part is at;  'knooooow'.

So he can def sing that with a lower voice going high/low and still be true to the song.

I think he would fuck that song over so bad and make it his little bitch. He sound really good now. peace

BUT YES AXL, PROVE HIM WRONG!!!  Kthx... hihi

Same here, but it doesn't seem the band is too keen on doing this style, meeeeeh Cry
