It's rare that I post here or anywhere now but this is very awesome news so I should express my excitement.

If this is going to be half as fun as 2007 was I am going to be in for a treat.

Can I get an amen? Hahaha

I wonder how ticketeking for this one will work. Since the ticket is $91 (great value compared to the $199.00 Bon Jovi are asking) for the Saturday racing and then concert, I wonder if it will just be a case of first in first served? Will there be any reserved seating around the stadium?

Ive been wondering the same thing. Most people seem to believe its all general admin so first in first served.

I'm over the moon about getting to see Guns n Roses again and will be flying up from Melbourne for the gig.
If you had have told me 5 years ago that I would have many opportunities to see GnR live and own Chinese Democracy I wouldn't have believed you.

Why does everybody keep saying that?

Are you saying Australia has a bigger percentage of idiots than anywhere else in the world?  Tongue

/jarmo

We certainly do and they will be out in full force at an event like this!!!!   hihi

Global rock legends Guns N? Roses will join the high octane charged V8 Supercar Championship Series to combine for a one-off East Coast concert at New South Wales? premier sporting and entertainment event, the Sydney Telstra 500, at Sydney Olympic Park this December.

Does this mean they will be playing a West Coast gig?  Huh Hope so!  ok

It seems weird that you only pay $91 and that gets you into the V8's and the gig.  I wonder how many people will buy tickets just for the gig and not go to the V8's!

It must be first in best dressed as there is no way to reserve anything.  I wonder how long they will play for.

This could end in disaster or be absolutely awesome!

Seems a long way to go to only play one gig..... hopefully a full tour gets announced.

I was wondering the same. Anyway, will get up early tomorrow to buy my ticket, then i'll sort out how it's gonna work.

Btw, Bon Jovi's tickets were ridiculously overpriced...

They sure are mate. The amount of emails I get from bonjovi.com selling their merch, you would think Jon is running low on funds  hihi

I think I will have to give them a miss if I want to attend GN'R plus a possible sideshow in Melbourne, which I think is very likely.

I know the feeling, mate. I'm cutting down on food to pay for my concert tickets. With Slash, Metallica, L.A. Guns, Bon Jovi and now Guns all coming to Sydney this year, I'll be eating a lot of Coles' instant noodles for a long time...  hihi

From what I have concluded through various articles and from the event website.

This IS an exclusive, one off show and they were payed accordingly. Somewhere slightly over the million dollar mark by V8Supercars Australia flat - no profit from tickets sales. That is a great gamble on their behalf and a good amount of the gate takings with under two hundred thousand people showing up over the course of the three days last year. The concert is on Saturday night alone. They must be assured of Gun pulling power and banking on a lot of money being spent at the event on other shit. Personally I can not wait to see them again, great news all round.

A pre sale begins tomorrow for 2009 ticket holders, Gen Ad go on sale nine a.m eastern standard time Monday 19th of July through Ticketek.

$91 dollars and only two hours drive up the road. Bargain price for a full days entertainment capped with a gunners concert.

Amazing value.

Some speculation the band are staying down under for a well earned break directly following the gig, time to hone my stalking skills for any impromptu performances.

Well, it is some pretty fuckin great news. HAHA

This year has been killer. AC/DC in feb, Metallica in Sep, OCt and Nov and Guns N' Roses in Dec. If Pantera could play a show with Black Sabbath this month and Alice Cooper drops by for a show next months It would win year of the century award. haha

Are you sure the pre sale is only for 2009 ticketholders?  Nothing on Ticketek website says that.
