Guns N' Roses Strong Since 1999!

« on: June 20, 2010, 04:23:53 PM »

A friend of mine says his Uncle worked in Las Vegas years ago around the time that Guns N Roses were scheduled to perform at the House of Blues. He says that through befriending this guy he got a backstage pass to the show. Anyway, my friend knows what a huge GNR nut I am, and when his Uncle tells him this story he asks him if he still has the pass. The Uncle says he will look and, sure enough, he finds it after a while and sends it to the friend who has given it to me. I don't doubt my friend, but his Uncle has been known to say a few tall tales, or to get his wires crossed...and I was wondering if anyone could confirm whether this item is real or not for me....someone who may have knowledge or a photo of a pass around that time...

This is what it looks like

I would say 50% real and 50 % fake. In other words, i have my doubts about this.

That is absolutely legit, I recall seeing the above several times. Go to this website, http://www.gnrontour.com/, select "2001" obviously, go down to the performance in question and you'll be able to locate the "all access pass" for that particular night. Here it is:

No problem, I've seen them on EBay, but I was just wondering whether someone could confirm its authenticity.

I mean I can't see anyone paying $45 and then claiming it was a real pass, and just giving it away, so....I can only assume all parties at least presume their dealing with a real pass....the only thing that worries me is of course the kind of scope that exists out there for fakes

the pass looks legit as far i can see from the pic. its certainly the correct artwork etc
the laminated passes are easily copied though and sold through ebay. the satin adhesive passes are most unlikely to be copied but the laminated ones are easy to make at home with basic materials.
