I'm not from either city, but I may be able to assist. What's up?

was thinking about the ferry trip from Gothenburg to Frederikshavn. If I leave on the Monday 13 my only chance is to take the 16.00 trip and arrive 19.15.
Considering how late GN?R take the stage this might be ok but you never know.  But I am just thinking how late I would actually be at the venue, not really knowing my way around the city enough, let alone that getting to my accommodation would not be a priority so late.
So what do you say, should I perhaps come one day earlier, chill around in Aalborg instead...

I've been around Europe for various gigs and I would never have such a tight schedule. Things usually get delayed when you don't need them to be.

For the Gn'R Budapest show in 2006 our plane had a technical error (smoke filled the cabin) and we all had to return to the terminal. Luckily (read: really lucky) they were able to scramble another available plane and get us going hours later (Gn'R were playing that evening!).

On the other hand, Gn'R are set for 20:00 hours and maybe expect an opener and a late show time by Gn'R (if South America is anything to go by). Just don't count on it.

PS: There's about 6 km from the train station to the venue in Aalborg.

I hear you,
I am therfore coming in on the Sunday evening.

I don?t want to take my chances. Besides, Danish beer is among the greatest.

It is actually. Ofcourse, being a Dane there'll always be a time of rebellion against that fact (teens, through my twenties) but as I've also travelled the world over the past 20 years, I have "come home".. so to speak.

Yes, Carlsberg is the Danish Budweiser, but they make special brews (the "Jacobsen" brand) that are worth your while. The best major Danish brewery though is Thisted Bryghus on the west coast, in the area of Thy. Their regular pilsner, Thy Pilsner, is terrific. They also make a Thy ?kologisk Pilsner (eco beer) and it is maybe the best regular beer in the world. If you ask me! Check them out, I belive they are available in the Aalborg area too.

But, ofcourse, the real gold is in the microbreweries. Popping up everywhere (but that's more of a global thing really I'd say).

as an Icelander it is obvious whom I am cheering for.
Anyone want to meet up before the game and watch?

Your opinion,  is it better to get an accommodation close to Gigantium or down town area, taking into the account I might want to explore some of the Jomfru gade vs being close to my bed after the concert.
