So Dave Kushner will be playing...

From Billy Morrison:

I can also tell you that Camp Freddy will be playing at Hollywood and Highland on April 15th for Izod Race Cars. This will be the first Camp Freddy show in 8 years that I have missed and I am really sad about that......but Mr Dave Kushner will be rocking stage left in my place and I know the band are gonna be amazing. I will be on stage in Switzerland with Billy Idol at the same time, so maybe we will channel each others vibe.

On April 15th, IZOD IndyCar Series is presenting a rare opportunity? come one, come all, to a FREE public CAMP FREDDY show.

Hollywood Boulevard (from Orange to Highland) will be shut down to promote the IZOD IndyCar Series and the Grand Prix of Long Beach. There will be Formula Drift exhibitions, IZOD IndyCar pit stop challenges, vintage cars from the 100 years of IndyCar racing, life-size Hot Wheels cars, the Hot Wheels IndyCar simulator and Formula Drift cars. IndyCar is the fastest racing in the world, with cars reaching sustained speeds of 220mph+... at that rate, the cars travel the length of a football field every second, while generating g-forces equivalent to a space shuttle launch. A perfect match for the Camp Freddy style of rock n roll! The insanity starts at 6pm all along the Boulevard with Camp Freddy performing later at the Hollywood & Highland Central Courtyard.

Dave Navarro answers fan questions, this on Camp Freddy:

8. I was surprised and totally psyched to see (unfortunately not in person) Paulie Z performing with Camp Freddy at one of your Roxy shows. How did this come about and what are the chances of it happening again?

The chances of it happening again are very good. Paulie is on the East Coast but he has an open door invitation to join us anytime he wants. Once in Camp Freddy, always in Camp Freddy, as we say. I met Paulie when I did an episode of his show on IFC, Z-Rock. (Also in season 2) We have remained friends and he is an amazing talent. Seriously one of the best rock singers I have worked with and I have worked with many!

10. Question about the ?Legal Bullshit? that Camp Freddy must obviously have to put up with. . . . Do you guys have to pay AC/DC, KISS, Led Zep, etc

No, there is no issue with that. We once did a recording of a Cheap Trick song for a soundtrack and of course they (CT) were compensated in that case. Bands are free to cover what ever they want in a live setting. However, a recorded version that is put in the market place in another story entirely.

Any idea if this has aired already?

The following day, IZOD and AquaHydrate presented an event titled "Race to the Party."  This all-day event packed a closed Hollywood Boulevard for five hours in celebration of the stars and cars of the IZOD IndyCar Series, featuring a pit stop competition and a priceless auto exhibit of vintage cars from the Indianapolis 500. Among the guests and participants were Mark Wahlberg and his good friend Sean "Diddy" Combs, both of whom appeared on Jimmy Kimmel (who taped a segment about the event for his ABC television show that night), and rock stars including Dave Navarro, Matt Sorum, Mark McGrath to name but a few.

Church presents Matt Sorum performing with Camp Freddy

Church attends a Camp Freddy show with Chester Bennington and captures a sick performance of Matt Sorum getting it on.
