QFT. Someone should probably consolidate all the streaming links and stuff lol... hihi into one topic. You know what I think REALLY helped this album the production value. Eric really hit the spot and knows how to produce Slash, you don't just hear the guitar and vocals you HEAR them if you catch my drift.

Not a big fan of this song, I don't like Ozzy's vocals.

Probably my least favorite of the bunch so far.  Good thing they didn't go with this as the lead single, whatever the reason was.  Didn't think it was a good idea when I heard it, and now that I've heard the song I have confirmation.

I like it. It kinda sounds like old black sabbath with  Ozzy's black rain voice.
I really do like it. peace

Edit: You know and it sounds like Slash 2.

Edit #2.

Check out these lyrics. At least as best as I could listen.
Fucking Epic.

The fire has started long ago
the flames burn down still embers blow
so charred and black there is nothing left to burn
to burn

We had the same dream live life to xtream
a loaded gun jammed by a rose

the thorns are not around your head
your ego curse you till you bend
you cannot crucify the dead
to me your dead yeah

The future is uncertain stone
desicions passive you alone
betrayed us all with your own selfish greed
your greed yeah

your soldiers now say that your back in command
recruits that are bought and payed by you

the thorns are not around your head
your ego curse you till you bend
you cannot crucify the dead
to me your dead yeah

we were like brothers with the world in our hands
you always have to much to say
one day you look back and you wonder why
you let it all slip away yeah

crucify the dead
crucify the dead

the thorns are not around your head
your ego curse you till you bend
you cannot crucify the dead
to me your dead yeah

didn't really like it at first, but it grew already on this second listen

as faldor said, it was probably for the best that they didn't choose this one as a lead single

saw some people debating whether the song was about axl or not. lines like "loaded gun jammed by a rose" definitely make it look like it could be.

Ozzy said the lyrics were what he thinks happened to GNR.  he said that in classic Rock.

Ozzy never did much for me, and for that reason I wasn't too excited about this one. It's pretty much what I expected from Ozzy. Slash has got some great moo building up in those guitars, though. Great guitar work as usual.

It does sound like he is talking about Axl:

"Loaded gun jammed by a rose"
"Your soldiers now say that your back in command"
"Recruits that are bought and payed by you"

Well...

it sounds like the lyrics are from slash's point of view even tho ozzy wrote them. "We were like brothers with the world in our hands"

^ They probably wrote them together.

The person that said Ozzy's voice never did much for them  rofl

I just can't picture anyone saying that. Ozzy is a god.

I think Duff put it real nice:
"We are all just lowly pretenders when OZZY enters the room"

If Ozzy wrote those lyrics, then I say 'fuck him'.
If Slash had wrote them, it'd be understandable. I wouldn't agree with it, but he lived through it so he at least has the right to write about it. Ozzy doesn't.
The lyrics are good... but they're about a subject Ozzy should just keep his mouth shut about. I don't like people on here thinking they have the right to get involved in a petty fight that has nothing to do with us. But at least none of those guys are intending it for commercial consumption.

Have yet to actually listen to the song. I'm at work right now, but from what I've heard of it in clips, it sounds like a really cool song.

The song is decent, sounds like a middle of the album Ozzy song. Don't appreciate the lyrics especially coming from Slash.

No mention of visiting the house of the one who jammed the rose up the barrel of the gun?

I agree.

It perpetuates the myth that Axl killed the band.

Since Slash's name is on the album, he has to take responsibility for them. I am actually somewhat offended by what is being implied.

Slash - "this is an interesting one. He [Ozzy] wrote those lyrics.... I was sitting beside him in the studio when he was putting it together and it had something to do with a relationship he'd been in. I'm not going to specify with who, but it's one of those vocals that could relate to a lot of people. Which is kinda funny because it reminded me of alot of relationships I've been in as well."

from this months metal hammer magazine.
