So, if this is what Slash creates when captaining his own ship I hope he never EvEr NEVER sails on anybody else's ship........E-V-E-R again!!!

When he's done touring, he should let that VR ship go by and start on his follow-up.

This. Or if he could find a band where he could contribute more ideas like this too, fuck yes. I think he should stick solo though its a great stuff. The only reason is Slash has proved himself in Guns you know he has created timeless songs , I just wish ( especially being a 19 year old ) that someone in my generation would in a sense take the spot you know. I wish WE had a band WE had a guitarist to make this kinda shit up. Say what you will be he makes some bad ass rnr.

Im just glad i won't have to hear anymore "slash hasn't done shit since...... bullshit"

I love bluesrock guitar and monster riffs and melodic solos

this album is gonna be full of both which equals big time win.

While we're busy crossing things off the list, maybe we should declare dead the myth that Slash "just wants to play the same AC/DC style songs over and over" and that Slash is "not willing to put in the work and push himself to the next level, and needs someone to drag it out of him."

I was someone skeptical of this album sounding like a hodge podge mess of songs thrown together (because of the different singers) but in some strange way all of the ones we have heard sound different yet strangely not totally out of place with the others.

Slash showed an awful lot of ambition and foresight to pull this off considering he financed the whole thing himself without a record deal, thought of the right singers for each song (and from what we have heard so far did a pretty good job identifying who would sound good with what) and then getting all the legal clearances in place dealing with 18 different record labels.  All within the span of 2 years start to finish. Not bad.

I agree.  The only legitmate knock on Slash was "Libertad."  "Contraband" fucking took over the rock world for a few years.  That album was a massive success.

This song was quite good after one listen.  I like Myles' voice.  Fits the track very well.  And Slash is great, per usual.  I was expecting a little more from "Ghost" with all the hype it was getting and "I'll Hold On" since I'm a Kid Rock fan.  But maybe those will grow on me in time.  This one though, instant winner for me.

1) nice Stones style intro (sticky fingers period)
2) after that, pure hard FM sh$t, my god, this singer is awful.
3) OK solo

maybe with Steve Lukather...

My favorite track so far. Myles has got a really good voice. Can't wait for rock on the range to see both him and slash in action!  Grin

despite not being a big fan of MK, this is a good song.

the others, just bad stuff. i'm so bummed out right now after listening to them. i really had high hopes for this album.

Hard to imagine this thing not being a huge success..

Really?

I hardly look for it to have any kind of chart success - maybe 20-25k in the first week then downhill from there.

That said, the tour should do well as long as they keep it to small venues and make it a hot ticket.

Yep, the album.

Domestic sales only.

I'd like to think your "over" prediction is right, I just have no faith in the record industry at this point...

I don't know about 20-25K, that seems way low.  But I do think sales won't be quite as high as people think.  Record sales just continue to plummet.  And while the music is promising and there's plenty of buzz HERE.  Is anyone outside of the GNR community really talking about this album?  Maybe they are, but it doesn't seem to be a popular topic to me.

I think it might sell well at least initially, since fans of the various artists on the album will also be interested and not just Guns / Slash fans. After that, it's anybody's guess. It'll depend on how they promote it - the tour, videos, single choices etc.
