Guns N' Roses Strong Since 1999!
Paradise Taken from Slash

Due to legal reasons, Slash's collaboration with BLACK EYED PEAS singer Fergie (a.k.a. Stacy Ann Ferguson) on a new recording of the GUNS N' ROSES classic "Paradise City", also featuring CYPRESS HILL, has had to be withdrawn from the limited-edition deluxe version of Slash's upcoming self-titled solo debut.
Fans should note that a brand new track, "Back From Cali" (featuring Myles Kennedy) has now been added and that the exclusive "Baby Can't Drive" (featuring Alice Cooper and Nicole Scherzinger) still remains.
I'd like to say that I agree with this personally because I personally hate this version of the track

I wonder what the legal reason is. It was released on the single

well probably same to do with Guitar Hero. Slash is still presenting himself as a GNR member instead of GNR former member, and keeps playing songs from GUNS like he's still in the band.
As for the playing, he can play them all he wants... Recording though... requires authorization, which it would have to come from Axl and Universal... so we all know what happened from there

They have authorization they don't need it cause all band members have the rights to the songs from AFD... but not UYI

I have no problem with Slash, but some of the stuff he has done live recently has been questionable in my view. I have no idea why he would want to put a re-recorded version of paradise city on his new record. There is obviously a problem with the legal side of this, whether it's to do with the rights to the song or anything else is anybodys guess.

I don't know... I tend to lean towards Slash realizing how much the hardcore fanbase hates it and this is an easy way to take it off the album without having to admit it was a bad idea
if it were a legal issue, he'd be sued for putting it on the Sahara single which to my knowledge he hasnt been sued...
It is a brilliant idea IMO. Kinda the Run Dmc/Aerosmith walk this way
its just it needs Axl to do it with an awesome current big time rapper.. like an Axl,Eminem,50 cent kinda collab which would be off the charts with Axl singing the chorus.

Or not disgrace the song at all like Slash's version did. Leave it be I say. It was horrible.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

yeah i dont hate the version that much; i think mainstream fans would dig it.
problem is, only hardcore fans would be the ones hearing it unless he released it as a single.
as for legal problems, while all the band members have ROYALTIES, i believe paradise is the intellectual property of only slash, axl and duff. It probably can't be released without the express permission of the 3 of them.
furthermore, use of the guns n roses name for record sales; could be an issue there
