Warren Buffett Plays A Guns N' Roses Rock Star
Who would have thought that under the hard business exterior of mega-investor Warren Buffett lies the soul of a wannabe rocker? A surreal video, making its way around the Net, shows Buffett doing his best imitation of Guns N' Roses rocker Axl Rose, complete with waist-length hair, a purple bandanna, black leather jacket and Axl's signature red plaid kilt from the '80s ? all as part of an eye-catching video for Geico, the auto insurance company owned by Berkshire Hathaway. And Buffett sings too. Okay, he attempts to sing.
The video, put together by Geico employees, shows workers breaking into song from their cubicles. The power ballad begins with a single employee singing "Jump on line or call a rep; We'll guide you through it step by step; Twenty-four-seven, we'll be there for you." From there, a chorus of employees chime in, complete with guitars, drums and cowbell. Even someone dressed as the company's mascot gecko does his best Slash-imitation on guitar.
But it's Buffett who steals the show, as shots of the billionaire investor singing and swaying a la Axl Rose from a spotlight-lit stage are juxtaposed throughout the two-minute-and-24 second video. His grand finale comes in the final 30 seconds where he stretches out his tattoo-laden arm to an unseen audience and croons into the mic "You bring out the best in me, you can always turn to me ... we're always true to you, we'll do it all for you..."

Pretty cool that the third richest man in the world is doing an Axl parody. Really speaks to the awesomeness of Axl that Warren chose him to impersonate. Not bad for an old guy.
Cheers,
Andrew

long hair, bandanna, who could that be
Its like long afro and a top hat, or Rhinestone suit, greased back hair and sunglasses. Who could they be?
Obvious props, sad to say it but being an icon makes for fancy dress mockery and the people doing it think they're cool, they're not, just sad...

I agree. And apparently he's not the first to do it -- here's a photo of Sir Richard Branson.

I think you're taking things a little too serious. It's just silly fun and in many ways an homage to the greatness of the person they're impersonating.
Cheers,
Andrew

I have only watched the clip once, but I agree with downzy56.
As long as something like this is not done in bad taste, I think it's just harmless fun. I think you have to also bear in mind how many people dress up as Axl or Bucket for halloween. Because Axl is such a successful and admired person, who also has a unique look, people tend to latch onto that when doing these kinds of things.
As I said, as long as it's not done in a derogatory way, I feel it's fine.
