Not to get anybody's hopes up before this one is confirmed, especially if you live in Saint Petersburg, but the official web site of the Ice Palace lists a GN'R show the day after the Helsinki, Finland show: http://www.newarena.spb.ru/afisha/#front/2010/06

As you said jarmo, lets not get our hopes up over this. But the odds are that it has some element of truth to it, after the other European dates.

This is also what I am expecting to happen now at this stage, other European dates slowly starting to turn up.

Collecting bootlegs is (was?) for me a way to calm my anxiety down. The anxiety produced in me for not being able to see GNR live.

But I really think I will stop collecting bootlegs (at least collecting like a retard freak who collects pretty much EVERYTHING like I am right now) after the 4 shows im planning to see in march  beer

But this show would be cool anyway, gives me a reason to actually go to Russia for the first time in my life Grin Too bad those Allegro-trains aren't ready yet, the trip would take about 3,5h from Helsinki. And weren't GN'R supposed to play in Russia in 1993? Moscow if I remember right..

that's right. GNR was going to perform at the Kremlin in 1993. They had 5/21/93 scheduled to play there, but never happened.

I'd love GNR to do what was unable to do in 2006: playing in Africa. Remember that My Coke Festival? One of the two dates was sold out (Johannesburg, if im not wrong) in a few days...

I agree with this.. there would be some happy people in South-Africa, first FIFA 2010 Championship tournament and then GN'R Cheesy Nice combination.

In case it's true, I think I'll try to be there! Guns N' Roses in Saint-Petersburg, Russia!! Hmmm, but it's not in the EU, I hope it's ok with visa and all. Actually I'd love to see GN'R play in any Central or Eastern European country too (Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, etc.).

(South Africa was in 2007, but yeah that'd be cool too!)

Google Translate says it's an arena with a capacity of about 12,300 seats. Usually it's for hockey games (and concerts).

I wonder why they never got around to playing Russia.  I figured they played pretty much everywhere on that immense UYI tour.  What other notable countries have they not played in?
