I get Favre did wrong.. but people saying he should get same suspension as Ben etc are wrong. Favre didn't get accused of anything criminal. it's an embarrassing thing to go through and makes the league look bad, but you can't suspend him the same amount as someone like Ben who had a 2nd accusal.

Maybe 1-2 games tops.

This is the worst NFC probably ever.. Honestly, nobody is any good right now. If i had to pick a best team, definitely would go with the Giants. They are playing some great football right now.

The issue is...it's potentially sexual harassment.  Both people involved worked for the same organization.  So the league has to be somewhat wary of setting a precedent that condones that behavior.

I suspect they'll give him 4 games and reduce it to 2 when he enters some sort of "sensitivity training" seminar.  All that, of course, is IF they find him "guilty".  So far the "victim" hasn't cooperated with the league, and if she doesn't....they'll likely not be able to do much of anything.

NOW it looks like his elbow might sit him for almost as long (a game or two) as any potential suspension would.

Money-making alert for HTGTH readers! Smiley
Axl4Prez2004 is betting this weekend with his bro-in-law.
Big cash...$5 on the Vikes over the Cowgirls straight-up.
$5 on the Broncos +4 over a Jets team without Revis and 6 days rest, that will hopefully not take the Broncos seriously.

If my history tells you ANYTHING, you'd be wise to bet on the teams I don't have!  Smiley

Well, I can officially give the Vikes the "double whammy".

Similar bet with a buddy of mine:

I have the Vikes, straight up.
I have the Falcons, straight up.

Though our bets are for a case of Bud Bottes, each (if we split, we each buy our own beer).

J-E-T-S 5-1 and in sole poesion of first going in to the bye. It was ugly to say the least but they made plays on both sides when they had to. I did not expect that much of a fight from the Broncos. I gotta give them credit though they nearly got us.

So, what did we learn today?  Pilferk was even, and I won $5 thanks to my VIKES! (and the Jets push as I had the Broncos +4).

Big win for the Vikings as we are now 2-3...heading into next Sunday Night's game at Green Bay...then it's at N'England.  then home against Arizona.  I'm seeing 4-4 likely with an outside shot of 5-3.  Not bad.

btw, I want to agree with D before he even says it...that call of pass interference near the end of the Vikings game was a bad call.  I do not think Greg Lewis had a shot at that pass.  Very questionable call.  The 'boys would have had more time to make something happen if that call isn't made.

...and can I just say, that as bad as Thom Brenneman was, it was SUCH a relief Joe Buck is out calling baseball games.  Not having to listen to that d-bag made the broadcast much more enjoyable.  Smiley

Patriots looked good today beating the mighty Ravens at home.  That Deion Branch didn't look too shabby in his return.  Maybe this team will be alright without Moss after all?  Who would've thunk it?  ME!

I still contend, the team will only go as far as their defense allows them.  They played well today, especially down the stretch when they had to, while the offense struggled a bit against a very good Raven D.

Faldor, good call...but it's still early in the "post-Moss" era in N'England.

It is, and obviously there's still a ways to go.  But so far so good.  I don't think they could've done any better yesterday with Moss.  You could argue that Branch is a better fit for this offense than Randy is.  Obviously not as talented, but he fits the system better.  The Ravens are a darn good football team, so that was a big win yesterday.  Both teams played very conservatively yesterday.  I actually think Baltimore could've won that game if they took some chances.  They had a number of 4 and 1's that they didn't attempt early on when they were moving the ball at will.  I was shocked they didn't try at least once.  I don't want to get ahead of myself, but the last two games the Patriots have looked like much more of a unified group out on the field.  They're playing with passion, a one for all, all for one attitude.  THAT'S worked in the past.  No offense to the dynamic offenses they had with Moss, but those teams were much more one dimensional.

Next week it's off to San Diego to play a reeling Chargers team.  Looks like Gates may be out for a bit, which sucks for one of my fantasy teams but would be good for the Pats.  That would be a tough loss to overcome.

Yup...I'm buying my own beer next weekend.

I can't believe Atlanta got pounded...I thought they'd handle the Philly D and I didn't think there was ANY way Kolbe would put up those kinda numbers.

Patriots are definitely better without Randy Moss

another reason why, did u see the 22 yard reverse by  Brandon Tate near the goalline?

What did u see on that play? Deion Branch with a big block that helped free him. Moss doesn't block.

I thought Wes Welker's post game comments were telling about his outlook on the team going forward.  After Moss got traded he talked about hearing that Randy asked for a trade and that they needed players that wanted to be there.  Then this week he said that Deion is a good player who goes all out and they have players who never quit and play a full 60 minutes.  Those words don't come close to describing Randy.  Again, skillwise, Randy is in a world by himself.  But his skills may be starting to slip, and he just wasn't going to be as big a factor in the offense this year.  Can't be any clearer than the fact that Branch had NINE catches in his first game with the Pats, the same number of balls Randy caught in FOUR games.

The Patriots just may be a BETTER team without Randy.  Branch runs routes Randy wouldn't dream of, giving Brady more options than just throwing long.  I certainly don't think they're any worse off, and at this point it seems like the team is rallying around each other, with that us against them mentality.

As for the Jets.  Good win in Denver.  Never an easy place to win, especially coming off a short week.  So even though they looked far from impressive, a win is a win.  And a win in hostile territory is always a plus.

I'm still not sold on the Vikings, especially with Favre's future a little uncertain.  I guess anything is possible, since the NFC appears completely up for grabs or at least in the sense of making the playoffs.  But I wouldn't get too excited about beating a seriously underachieving Cowboys team.  You have to start somewhere though I guess.

How fucking cool is that?  Favre in lambeau?  Sunday Night with the best broadcast duo in the world?  (Michaels and Collinsworth are THEE best)...
I feel bad for Rodgers.  Talent-wise, right now I think he's superior to Brett, but the Packers as a team are not as talented as Minnesota.
Vikes will win 31-27.  Should be fun.   yes
The Pack is giving up 4.7 yards per carry and Adrian Peterson's due for a big game.   drool

3 underdog picks this week...(I still can't believe all 3 are 'dogs, yes, road teams all 3, but in my opinion, superior to their opponents.)

Vikes +3 over the Packers
Patriots +3 over the Chargers
Redskins +3 over the Bears

Some view the Patriots game as a "trap game" from the New England perspective.  Coming off a big win vs. the Ravens and having a BIG game against the Vikings next week with Randy's return.  A long trip out west after a hard fought game with the Ravens.  That's the reason many are picking the Chargers.  The Packers look to be headed in the wrong direction with all the injuries and people seem to think the Vikings are trending upward.  Looks can be deceiving sometimes.  And the Bears offense looks to be a mess right now, but they could bounce back at home this week.  The Redskins are a decent team, but nothing special.

My bro-in-law is desperate for redemption after losing $5 to me last week with the Vikings-Cowboys ($5) and Jets-Broncos (push).

So...I let him know the Cowboys are favored by 3.
Here's the deal he offered me.
I get the Cowboys straight-up, no points, he gets the Giants.
PLUS, if the Giants win, I give him $5.  If the Cowboys win, I get $10!

Is this insanity or what?

On the Vikes-Pack game, if the Vikes are trending upwards and the Pack the other direction...how can the Pack still be favored?  Do you think a lot of money is being wagered on the "anti-Brett" side?  Lines are only gonna depend on how much money's on each side...I just find it hard to believe there's just as much money being wagered on the Packers' side...now I'm not a conspiracy theorist.  I don't believe games are fixed.  The size and scope of the deception would be impossible to cover up.  Vegas' success does make me scratch my head though.
