Check out the video here, Slash working with the dudes that are building this amp. They ask him for the Appetite Masters, he says he will see what he can do to get them.. And of course he does.  Pretty cool behind the scenes stuff. Some good updates too...

Wow, interesting project. I'll be tracking this. Why can't they contact the guy who did the original SIR amp mod?

Lol,

Think a lot of guitar players will buy this amp if it really does sound like the afd record.(or close 2)
it's the most perfect sound for guitar players these days.

I've seen a lot walking around with hundreds of effects/multi-effects, and it shouldn't be that way(I'm one of them well I did loose a few today just in the way all those cables and stuff)

just simple an amp with great sound and 1-2 effects and that's it.

Sam Caswell...  Not sure..

The guy's name is Tim Caswell and he now runs Studio Electronics. (www.studioelectronics.com). They really should contact this guy. I'm sure he'll know more about the amp than Slash can ever remember.

I think they do know what to do, but, some of the parts are not exactly the same.  For example, the amp they modded, they have to recreate that amp as well correct?

I doubt many guitar players will buy it, more of a novelty than anything else. I'm strongly opposed to guitarist using signature gear in their set-up. It defeats the purpose, Slash didn't get a Slash sound by using Joe Perrys signature this or Jimmy Page signature that it was his own sound, and I encourage all guitar players to find that sound for themselves. That being said it's a really raunchy sound , most stuff now-a-days is perfectly distorted haha! But I'm a firm believer that all you need to rock is a 'Paul and Marshall some overdrive and a crybaby  beer

Well, in the videos, Slash doesn't even remember the number of inputs and I don't recall them saying it was a Super Tremolo. They could get this information from Tim Caswell: The original amp, what were the modifications he did etc. I'm sure Marshall has the designs for the original Super Tremolo, so it's just knowing which amp and what modifications to start with.

Remember, they were unsure if the amp SLash used was the #39 or #36............  Plus they want to add an effect loop.

Well to clear things up a bit I e-mailed Caswell asking if he had been asked or asked to contribute to the AFD 100 and this was his response

I have offered (through Unicord) to help on the AFD100
project, but I have not been contacted by Marshall.

I got it, Marshall's EGO is getting in the way.  He isn't a Marshall man.

I cant wait to see if this amp is going to work!
Thats is the last piece in recreating the exact kind of AFD sound from Slash's part and it would be great to hear that in some other songs!!!!

I think they are making some real progress.

They just put this video up recently of Slash playing some Nightrain and SCOM on the new amp. Nightrain sounds awesome. I am not sure how far they are from getting the sound, but they seem to be getting in the ballpark.

nightrain sounded awesome,
sweet child lacked some delay or something effect... the intro sounded weak (the right tones yes) but missed some delay or whatever it had in the real deal
