The most hilarious thing is that as he completely financed his solo album himself, having Fergie on his record has actually cost him money, so far. And unlike Richard, I doubt he was paid a penny to perform with her/the Black-Eyed Peas. They've all been charity gigs, or his birthday party, or just turning up because he's friends with them. (You've got to make a lot of money from something to be a sell-out).

Also... he's a musician. It is his job to play music. Who he chooses to play with is nobody's business but his. One thing's for sure... you can't be a sell-out by just doing your job, no matter how much money you make from it.

Hate the commercials he/his music appears in, and his decision to become a poster-boy for Activision, or his appearance on American Idol... all of which are valid reasons to call someone a sell-out. But for doing his job with friends of his with the same job? No... that doesn't make him a sell-out at all.

I find this Slash hate so amusing.

Richard jams with Rhianna, Slash jam's with fergie.  Somehow Slash becomes a sell out.  Richard has toured the world with GNR and is touring again, he aint exactly homeless on the street.  Im sure he can efford his Gas bills.

This reminds me of the time when some people were bashing Slash for Tweeting!  Now the same people love how Axl and GNR tweet.

Some fan's are even asking if the voting in the "Best Guitarist" thread can be redone!  why?  Cos Slash is winning?

Nothing in the world confuses me more than Guns N Roses fans who hate  Slash.  It makes no fucking sense.  It confuses me even more when they are fans who have been around since the original line up was together.  I became a fan of GNR back when the Illusions came out.  Hating the old members baffles me.  I understand supporting the new band, but completely ripping everyone from the old band is lame.  I have seen the new band 6 times, in the front row for 4 of them, they are awesome but I don't feel like I have to go hate Slash now to show how much i like them.    I understand fans getting tired of  Slash's name coming up all the time when Guns N Roses are mentioned, but heres is a newsflash, that is NEVER changing.  The world will be talking about Old Guns and "Appetite" for as long as the world exists,  Once something is so big and has been established people will never forget it.   The worst thing is these people don't even think for themselves.  They don't even know why they hate Slash, they just hate him cause Axl has a problem with him.  If tomorrow Axl all of the sudden has no problem with Slash anymore, a lot of these people will be like "oh Slash is awesome!"
The problem is, there is a LOT of hatred shown towards Axl among some "fans".  There are plenty of people who talk shit about him and say he's nothing without Slash and go on to praise everything Slash does or says, like he can do no wrong.  I think that's where the Slash hate comes in.  Some people get fed up with Axl being painted as the bad guy and that's their way to react.

I do think it's not right to hate on Slash, seeing as he was a huge part of GNR's history.  But he has said and done some things over the years to make Axl look bad, and that I can't agree with.  It's just a big mess between those two.  The hatred isn't going away anytime soon.

I just listen to the music.

If grown men want to fight and hate each other, it's their business.

They're not my friends.  They're not people I know, or even care to know.

Music, music, music.  That's all that matters to me.

Well said, these two gentlemen. yes

Let's face it, Slash could go out tomorrow and save a sinking bus full of orphans and some people would still find something to criticise. ("I bet he drove the bus into the river himself!...." etc.)

If Slash wants to record a rock album with Fergie, fine. Let him. It seems that "doing whatever you want to" in rock 'n' roll is a good thing. But playing with a pop singer? Oh no, that's bad.

SLASH Says He Might Record Rock Album With FERGIE - Feb. 18, 2010

U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine has posted a new video clip (see below) of legendary guitarist Slash (GUNS N' ROSES, VELVET REVOLVER) talking about how he came to collaborate with BLACK EYED PEAS singer Fergie's (a.k.a. Stacy Ann Ferguson) on his upcoming first true solo album, simply entitled "Slash".

Slash took to Twitter last fall to defend Fergie's vocal performance on a new recording she did with Slash of the GUNS N' ROSES classic "Paradise City" (hear audio below), also featuring CYPRESS HILL. A copy of the recording surfaced online last year while Slash was contemplating whether to include it on his new solo album. The former GUNS guitarist tweeted, "Until now, not too many people have heard Fergie sing rock & roll but she sings it better (than) most dudes I know. She's a screamer at heart."

Sounds like it could have some potential.  My only worry would be if she could pull off this type of singing in a live setting.  She does some impressive stuff in the studio on that song, but the ONE time she tried to perform it live it fell flat.  Granted it was only ONE time, so you can't base much off of that.  But it'd be a concern, IF they worked together and decided to tour.

i wouldn't put to much stock in a one off performance where it was the 1st and only time they did the song;

i think if they did a tour with the number of rehearsals and just playing the same shit night after night the performance will be much tighter
