One thing came to mind...

Look at these facts:
Show in Finland: A festival with a capacity of over 40,000.
Show in Sweden, a festival with a capacity of 33,000+.

And they want the only Danish show to be in this venue with a capacity of about 10,000?

Would that be enough for Denmark?  Huh

I've been thinking about that too, but maybe they'd play this show as they're in the area and then come back to play Roskilde in July Grin Well anyway, I'd like to attend a show like this instead of a festival show.

Why not parken stadium which holds 38,000?  Depeche mode play there every tour.

Good points, Jarmo.

Both Depeche Mode and Chili Peppers have played Parken over the past years and sometimes blinded off some of the upper floors depedning on their stage setup and given expected  ticket demand that year.

Shows have ranged from 15,000 to 26,000. The downside is the sound in Parken; it's usually horrendous.

Let's hope something gets worked out for Denmark.. SOON!

I think so. A festival always draws more visitors than a concert. Especially when it's a 2 or more day festival.. In the Netherlands they sold about 12.000-15.000 tickets and Netherlands population is about 3 x Denmark's

You also have to factor in that the Gigantium in Aalborg is (almost) as far away from the capital (Copenhagen) as you can get. It's a 3-400 km drive for most around the main part of Seeland. This may keep some fans and other interested parties from attending. Who knows.

While the venues of Parken (stadium) and Forum (arena, like Gigantium) are both located in midtown Copenhagen.

Yeah but GN'R actually sold out multiple arena shows in Scandinavia last time they were here.

I hope they play on an outdoor venue, like in Herning, Bruce Springsteen and Coldplay played there last year with around 40000 spectators.

But hopefully we will have an announcement soon.

Last time around they added extra shows as the first ones sold out if I remember correctly. In Norway and Finland at least.

It could be a strategy they're going by this time as well.

There hasnt been anything in the danish local newspapers or anything on the net , the last thing we heard was that GNR was in negotiations with the bookers from Aalborg, that was almost 1 week ago, when do you think it will be confirmed?

Who need Download after last time and GNR will play(my guess) at least 20 concerts in Europe and for sure in Engalnd too... Wink

Just convenient as I was hoping to go Download to see AC/DC. With no Sonisphere the choices are running out

Second choice of festival would be Hard Rock Calling as I think Reading is sold out..

You know this is a good thing, right?
We don't want festivals.. we want concerts! Wink

Amen to that.
