I want reggae artists that do upbeat, and slow songs. But i dont want them to be too soulful. More funkier rather than soulful.

I know very little about Reggae artists beside white reggae bands.

Of course Bob Marley is the greatest...go deep into his collection.  I'd suggest springing for the box set Songs of Freedom.  Also, I'd suggest music by his children, especially Ziggy, Stephen and Damien.  Tosh is good.  Some others have made good suggestions here too, I like Eek-A-Mouse, Steel Pulse, Jimmy Cliff.  Also, big fan of Barrington Levy, Lucky Dube, Toots and the Maytals.  If you like an awesome band in the genre of Sublime type reggae, mixing ska, punk, metal, you have to listen to Slightly Stoopid.
