From Ultimate Guitar:

In what will be his first true solo album, rock icon Slash announced his CD, Slash, will be released in April, 2010.

Today Ultimate Guitar exclusively reveals the new album's artwork. Check it out at this location.

The album features an all-star roster of guest musicians including Ian Astbury, Chris Cornell, Rocco DeLuca, Fergie, Dave Grohl, Myles Kennedy, Kid Rock, Lemmy Kilmeister, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Duff McKagan, M. Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold, Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, and Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother.

A major undertaking for Slash, he enlisted services of producing partner Eric Valentine (Queens of Stone Age, The All-American Rejects) and compiled a rhythm section of bassist Chris Chaney (Jane's Addiction) and drummer Josh Freese (Nine Inch Nails). Slash handled the majority of arranging and songwriting duties and hand-picked each guest artist. The album's guests worked collaboratively with Slash to round out the song.

"The idea was really simple in the beginning," said Slash. "These are all artists I wanted to work with ? that I thought it would be amazing to do something creative and collaborative. And I was so impressed with what everyone brought to the table. They were all so committed to doing a good job. And we had a lot of fun making these songs."

In addition to the album news, Slash has teamed up with Guitar Center, the world's largest musical instrument retailer, for a first-of-its kind undiscovered music program: Guitar Center Presents Your Next Record with Slash, an unsigned band competition that provides emerging artists the chance to win the ultimate career-altering opportunity: record a 3-song EP with legendary producer, Mike Clink (Guns N' Roses, Motley Crue, Megadeth) and have Slash write, record and perform on the winning artists' single. Starting today, through April 30th, 2010 bands across the United States are invited to submit their music at YourNextRecord.com for a chance to win.

The Slash album will be released through EMI Label Services. "We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Slash on the "Slash" project. EMI Label Services and Caroline Distribution will be providing unique marketing and promotion services while working closely with Slash on creative ways to expose this great project to the consumer," said Dominic Pandiscia, SVP and General Manager, EMI Label Services and Caroline Distribution.

Slash Track Listing:

01. Ghost (Ian Astbury)
02. Beautiful Dangerous (Fergie)
03. Nothing To Say (M Shadows of Avenged Sevenfold)
04. Crucify The Dead (Ozzy Osbourne)
05. Promise (Chris Cornell)
06. By The Sword (Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother)
07. Doctor Alibi (Lemmy Kilmeister)
08. Saint Is A Sinner Too (Rocco De Luca)
09. Watch This (Dave Grohl/Duff McKagan)
10. I Hold On (Kid Rock)
11. Gotten (Adam Levine)
12. We're All Gonna Die (Iggy Pop)
13. Starlight (Myles Kennedy)

Record with Slash & Mike Clink, that is a pretty cool opportunity for whoever wins.

Also, I wonder what track Izzy is on, and then the one Adler and Flea are on. Hopefully some more info about those tracks comes out. Thankfully the Pussycat Dolls singer is no where to be found.

Looks like the track with Beth Hart didn't make the cut... Still a great song!

That artwork is really fucking cool... he mentioned last week or the week before his brother Ash did the artwork.

Tracklist looks interesting... but I'm missing the Izzy track and Flea/Steven track. Unless they're on it but just not mentioned. Also 13 tracks, expected a bit more.. but there will probably be some bonus tracks/b sides.

The tracklisting above only lists the vocalists. Steven/Flea & Izzy are on their somewhere.

Slash also mentioned that there would be a half dozen or so bonus tracks.

Steven said that him and Flea play on a great rock n roll track with a singer that "everybody knows." Ozzy?

This looks a little too much like the artwork for the first Snakepit album.

Nice cover. Finally, the track listing.

This looks a little too much like the artwork for the first Snakepit album.

It is similar, but both are his 'solo' projects... so...

Looks like the track with Beth Hart didn't make the cut...

Thankfully the Pussycat Dolls singer is no where to be found.

All those are bonus tracks. I wonder who'll get what.

1. Baby Can?t Drive (Alice Cooper/Nicole Scherzinger)

2. Paradise City (Fergie/Cypress Hill)

So because of 2 or 3 collaborations with "popstars" he isn't rock n roll?   no

I'm actually interested in hearing the Fergie track since Eddie Trunk spoke highly of it.  The girl can sing, and churn out hits.  So it could be good.

yes. that and the fact he does it all for the money.
And I know, so did pink floyd.. hell David couldnt even join at first cause he wasnt rich enough but when it comes to music they did whatever the fuck they wanted and not what they taught would make them most populair
