Unfourtunately it wasn't... the arena had a giant blue curtain dragged around most of the second tier in Spinal Tap-like fashion.  Oh well, its Saskatoon's loss.  It isn't the first (and it won't be the last) time Saskatoon has poor attendance for events like this.  As long as the band is tearing it up, and 6,000 people enjoyed themselves, it should be considered a success.  This tour has been phenomenal so far.

Just got home... I gotta share a few quick thoughts/observations before I pass out at my keyboard.

- Someone at the soundboard decided to play a lot of Accept before GNR took the stage... pretty cool.
- The crowd was a little rowdier and the security wasn't as strict throughout the show.  People crowd surfed at various points during the set... and what do you know... the building didn't burn to the ground.  hihi
- A guy next to me asked me "Which one is Slash?"  rant
- I think Ron played a little Estranged during his solo (not sure if thats a usual thing or not).
- During the set, Axl went out of his way to high five over half a dozen kids near the far left catwalk... very cool, genuine, and unexpected.
- During Knockin' on Heaven's Door, Axl told a story about a trip to Easter Island with Beta.  Axl said that a guy putting blocks under the tires of the plane sang to him... specifically; "Knock, knock, knock Mutha-fucka".
- Somebody threw something/did something to piss Axl off at the end of Paradise City and he left the stage saying "Thanks alot d!ckhead"... when they returned with Madagascar, Axl added some lyrics to the song - "when people f*ck with my show..."
- The final song of the evening, Nightrain, was amazing.  A great surprise to see it end the show.  Sebastian and Danko looked like they were having the time of their lives up there.  Baz really milked it.  Axl was in really good spirits.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts/observations! Way cool!
I think it's great they didn't end with PC for once. PC is a fantasting song to end with, probably the best, but it doesn't always have to be the same song. Some variation is always nice. Nighttrain is also kick ass to end with. Which other songs would also be good to end with? What do you guys think? They used to end with Rocket Queen in the early, early days, but I think 'My Michelle' would also do.

Glad to see the tour is still going so well. Go Gunners!  ok

In the ITW video, is Axl wearing a Bubblefoot tee shirt?

Totally agreed. I went to Calgary and Edmonton. These guys rip the place apart. They sound amazing and Axl is a beast. The energy and effort of this band is unmatched, period. Whatever the numbers are, the people that don't show, it's really their loss.

That makes more sense... and I've since learned Axl really said "Forgive those that f*ck up my show" during Madagascar.  hihi

Oh, and a great memory popped into my head from the show last night... almost forgot...

During one of Axl's banters, he said something like "The relationship of the band is based on faith and trust... they have no faith in me, and I don't trust them for shit!"  rofl

Not to mention the show in stoon was something special.  Axl told 2 stories chatted a ton and still played a 3 hr set with a half full stadium.

V funny - thanks for sharing! This sounds like another awesome show! I am cool with whatever song they end on, we're all v used to Paradise City - but Nightrain...   Grin That would be hard getting the smile off my face leaving a show on the back of that as a final song - brilliant choice! and with cool guests too.  sounds like everyone is having a fkn ball on this tour!!! thanks for all the udpates people, greatly appreciated.

Thanks for all of the updates and info. No, really thanks. You've made me incredibly jealous! lol

Glad to hear (or read?) that the show went fantastically well. I love the way that GN'R just keep proving the naysayers wrong!

yes sir it really seems to me axl is on a mission this time around he looks great sounds fucking amazing. i took a buddy to the show how was a big gnr fan back in the day, but did not accept the new band. at the end of the show he looked at me and said Slash who? lol. that being said i was upset about the lack of people in the seats but the energy in the crowd, it seemed axl was playing for 50000 people THANKS GUNS N ROSES for the best show yet.
