What are people thoughts on the new stage layout ?

i personally don't like it i think it breaks the crowd up too much, just a normal stage layout with one small platform in the middle would work better i think !

i can't see this stage layout working in europe !! i just seems wierd that people have to look at the back of axl or whomever when their right at the front of one of those "catwalks? type things ??

what do u think , also would like to hear from people that have been to a gig !

I think it's great.

It brings the bandmembers closer to a much larger portion of the audience.

The "I can't see the stage layout working in Europe" statement is just silly. What are you basing this on? Has there been some extensive research on this particular subject matter?

I must have missed the "The impact of concert stage layouts in different cultures" paper.

It's the coolest stage currently on tour.

There's nothing like it.

Sure, U2 has a huge stage too, but they didn't put it indoors!

If you haven't seen it in person, shut up.  Tongue

yah both me and Spirit are from Europe, but that "breaking up the crowd" idea you seem to have is odd.. how much contact do you have with people 70 meters away from you anyway? It's even cool when the frontmen says to one side of the crowd sing this and then the other side should sing higher and battling each other and shit

but alrite

I love the new stage and I can't wait to see it in action in Toronto!!  Kiss   beer

Personally, I feel it's the best stage design, that GNR has ever had.   yes

Including the Illusions setup. In hindsight, the rig/lighting they had back then, is boring compared to now.  Cool

My first thought when seeing the new stage was, "they will be closer to the crowd than ever before".

It seems so in your face and why wouldn't you want the greatest band that ever graced the stage, "In your fuckin' face!"

What never stops to amazes me, is how people always fucking complain.

Is it just me or is it normal that people complain about ANYTHING?

I hate Axl's pants.  He has a hole in it that I don't like.  He should wear normal jeans!

My thoughts after the Edmonton show:

Pro's

- Guns N' Roses have a large band, and they move around alot... the extra catwalks keep the band members engaging with the crowd.  People in the stands and on the floor get a good view of the action.
- The three catwalk look is unique to GNR... and it commemorates this leg of the tour.

Con's

- The catwalks break up the crowd and pen the first few rows of people in like sheep... add in the power tripping security and it felt like I was being watched the whole time.

That said, I still like the stage layout overall.   ok

Yeah, I've seen some rockshows, but this shit is something else.
If you go, I suggest you look up, because that lighting rig is seemingly very innovative. A cavalcade of pyro on deck. Great sound system(not sure about the back of the arena...). Great LED effects. Guns n' Roses too! Shocked
Go if possible! Money well spent, even if you don't like GNR and just dig looking at cool shit.

The stage seems awesome and it's a great idea to get the band closer to the audience. I'm gonna love to be locked in like sheep in the first rows!

Is there some picture where we can see the total layout of the new stage? as far as I can see from the vid's and action pics from the past shows, the stage seems to be very cool!
