Info:
this is a project for GN'R related tv stuff (mostly Illusions Era) with known sources and transfer info.
quality from the clips differs but has some very nice parts and beats most of the other SA compilation discs floating around.
tried to make it some more chronological this time. "Destructive Illusions #3" is not finished yet (waiting for a few files),
so this is "Destructive Illusions #4" with mainly 1992 stuff. all DV/PC transfers have LPCM audio and very high video bitrates
encoded @ 8220avg 2pass (its outmaxed, watch out if your SA players can handle this!).
more to come!!
Sources and Transfer:
TV -> various NTSC VHS (mostly masters and gen1s) -> JVC HRS-9800U S-VHS Deck with TBC/DNR -> AR Pro II Series S-Video Cable
-> Panasonic ES-10 (Pass through tbc/frame synchronizer, Line in NR turned ON, both in and output black levels set to darker)
-> AR Pro II Series S-Video Cable -> Audio wires from vcr -> Sony TR-740 Digital8 Camera (TBC/DNR Turned ON, used for temporal filtering)
-> firewire -> JVC DRM-100 DVD Recorder (SA SP with DD 2.0 (256kbps) [01-09]) -> PC -> dED (cutting out commercials, NO re-encoding!)
and
VHS-M -> DV/PC [10-17] -> dED -> DVDR5
video editing: image centering, 4x black borders adding, sometimes little color editing, fading in/out!
audio editing: just some hard limiting, normalizing and fading, NO equalizing!
Credit goes out to Mark and John for taping and providing the vhs tapes as well as Matt and John for the transfers!!!
