Its easy to tell that Will is doing his best to spread the GNR live music, because he's been uploading stuff from day zero of this new tour, and he has some big ''history'' in the trading community. Its also easy to see that Will knows how a good trading / sharing community is or should be, and that he understands the importance of the light and ''friendly'' mp3 format. He uploaded SEVERAL mp3 boots these days, and all of us were grateful with him.

You just dont give a fuck about this subject. How can you give a shit if you attended the show in question, and all other asian shows from this year and some from past years? Well, i got news for you, your case is one in a million.

I truly dont think you love GNR more than me. Difference is I cant see GNR live everytime i want.

There were LOTS of people asking not to convert their uploads to mp3 (like prisby) in the past. it was done anyway, and I have never see you ''moderating'' this section back then.

In this case, the fact that it said so was brought to my attention.

As you might've guessed by now, bootlegs aren't a "big deal" to me. I honestly haven't paid that much attention to what formats are out there or what masters, versions, re-authorings etc. are out there.

I download the occasional bootleg and listen to it. It's a nice memory to have.

But as I stated earlier, it didn't make me a fan. So it's not a necessarily to me.

I can see how that might be different for you. You upload a lot of stuff so maybe you have a reputation as "the mp3 guy". I have no idea. If that is insulting or disrespectful, it wasn't meant to be.

I just haven't been following theis whole scene that closely and the more I see, the less I wanna know.

I really think you just wanted to play some role in this subject, and found a whole lot of people (long time collectors) thinking the opposite than you, and with very good arguments you can only counterattack with that ''respect uploader's wish'' crap.

Just like he pointed out to you, Will asked me what we should do because he noticed it said "no mp3s". So in my stupidity I thought we should respect that wish.

No, there was no evil master plan to piss people off. The whole idea was to not piss off the only known source!

I have nothing against you (God... dont add me to your black list of people who have ''agendas'' against you  ). But I truly think you should contemplate the possibility of being wrong sometimes. Calling this trading community a ''little scene'' wasn't very nice at all. I think this ''little scene'' did and is doing an enormous job spreading the GNR music for free to fans and people all over the world.

No, the little scene would be the little group of people within that big group.

There's always a few who stand out in a bigger group.

I like MP3 for some reasons, but Flac is better and if I want I can download a free converter to make my own mp3's outta anything, so man up and turn off the fucking childish school girl whining....

That's not the problem. Think a bit more. Not all the world is USA or Sweden. There is not a broadband connection at every house in places like southamerica, central america, africa, asia and other places. But GNR fans are everywhere. Its not easy, even for me, to download 1,4gb of stuff. I still manage to do it, cause I dont like lossy stuff.

Problem is HOW to get the 1,4 gb thing. Yes, obviously, once you have it, converting it is quite simple.

You can convert the 1,4 gb thing into 150 mb in one minute. 40 minutes later, you can have the files up. 10 minutes later, a whole bunch of thousands of fans can enjoy the music you and I are enjoying.

But there is STILL people trying to deny the fans that chance, just because they werent born in the first world. THATS pathetic.

I am calling bullshit on that point, I had dial up for years, if I really wanted something I downloaded the torrent and left it on all the time till it finished then seeded it, you are not talking about people not getting the flacs youre talking about people wanting instant gratification, and crying if they don't, that's the issue here.  You are worried about the people that dont have or cannot afford a high speed internet service?  Here is a question then, what are you doing to spread these to the thousands if not millions that do not have any connection?  right, didn't think so, instant gratification is the problem....  I just got high speed 2 years ago and have plenty of boots downloaded at 4-5kb/s I never cried about it

you know how much time and money you need to download 1500 megabytes with... dial up? are you kidding me? and keeping the telephone line busy for... 1 week? Its up TO US, now, this right moment, to help people with slow connections. Its NOT UP TO US to help people without any kind of connections. There's nothing we can do about that, except for a few B&P, something I've done A LOT.
