listening to the tokyo boot now, superb stuff!!

I love the little intro they're doing to Paradise. Was that something they did on the spot, or did they play it on all shows?

You know what's amazing?

This was only the fourth show.

For comparisons sake, they had four warm up shows in 2006.... Already looking forward to the upcoming shows!  Grin

It's the same as in 06/07.

Can't remember if it's from a movie or if it might be an original piece (Pitman?).

I think it's a Marco Beltrami composition... couple of years ago someone kept saying that it was the "War of the worlds" soundtrack, but it wasn't!

the "If The World" ending is outstanding!
and Axl's words there (from Diana Ross "Love Hangover") just fit perfectly and are a short musical highlight i'm missing at some CD studio songs!
fuck, now i'm gonna buy that Diana Ross album, would never have done that before!

 yes
I don't know why no expert reviews mention this but the recent GNR shows had the quite strong feel of funk, soul/disco(?) of the 70s/60s(?). danceable. that was already there on cd I thought and is more remarkable live.

Good find! I knew I've heard that before, but would have never guessed it was Diana Ross stuff! And yes, the If The World outro was fabulous all these shows. Even more: i think i like the live version more than the studio one, and I do like the studio version a lot.
