That looks like it's mic'd up for recording...

I'm just curious, what's the difference when you mic up for recording versus mic up for a live show?

I more meant that if you are in a rehearsal studio like mates, running the amp he does through those cabinets there would be nor real reason to also run it through a front of the house PA... Based on the concrete wall next to the cabs it doesn't look like that is a stage setup in an airplane hanger (or the like). So my mind went to recording.

They could just be running it through a PA, but I don't see a reason to do so in a practice space unless you are also working on things like the in-ear systems which would require you to mix the levels etc...

Edited to add: If you also watch several years of available live Slash footage, that type of in-ear monitor for internal band communication doesn't see like something he has ever done, which may also take some getting used to.

True. And my guess would be that they are and have been rehearsing like hell for the upcoming shows that are only a week away. Don't think they'd have the time and energy to focus on recording anything..

We know what Slash will sound like, his guitar tone is very consistent over the years, I'm very interested to hear Richard and how he compliments him. We have always heard him playing with Bucket, Bumble, Robin, and DJ who have all had an overly crunchy overly compressed guitar tone, so I wonder if his effects choices change to better intertwine 'sonically' with Slash.

I'm hoping one of these next instagram equipment photos is of Richards things.

God I hope not. I hate that live sound. From what I heard on YouTube in his solo/VR gigs, it's way better now.

Yes, Richard is super good on technical  things, i think his ''old'' guitar sound he used in like, Blacklight Jesus Of Transylvania and intro to Outta Get Me should work great with Slashes sound. I just hope they wont do the Illusions tour mixing trick to put rhythm guitar super low.
