the wooden(?) thingy on the right with Axl's handwriting on the side (notice the E).. plus what's the pedal on the floor for?

Choo choo....

The pedal is to talk to the band and crew. Maybe you've seen it at shows. Sometimes you see Axl talk into the microphone but nothing comes out of the speakers.

Great to see this stuff.  As a long time reader/first time poster, I have to point out that the pedal on the left is a Dunlop Slash model Wah.  Pretty cool to see Axl and Slash gear side by side.

It does appear to be the Slash model pedal (you can make out the slash skull and bones top hat logo on the rubber grip portion of the pedal) BUT... I would say that if they are rehersing the stage setup, that is the complete wrong place for Slash's pedal placement as it would normally be just to the left of center stage (facing the crowd)... It could be that Axl is using a modified Slash pedal to cut off access to front of the house PA, but stay live on the in ear system.

I will take the word of someone who has stood at the side of the stage photographing the band, who has seen how Axl manipulates that communication system... BUT great catch, you can barely see the worn Slash logo, but it is definitely there.

To be clear.
I don't know what that pedal is used for and by who. It could very well be a guitar pedal.

My first thought when seeing a pedal next to Axl's stuff is the talk back pedal. But that might be elsewhere and not seen in the photo. Smiley

It might be Slash's pedal. (It certainly is his signature Dunlop).

Looking at the picture it doesn't seem like they have placed things as they would on stage. There's a monitor at the side of that table and the piano is in front of that again.

Yeah, like Spirit said, it sure looks like his Dunlop Crybaby wah-wah. But it wouldn't be the wrong place, as he sure will have more than one wah pedal installed in the stage (if he's the only lead, it will probably be at both wings and at the very center). Slash did this before and even Robin and Bumblefoot had more than one wah pedal in the stage.

Every day I'm excited logging onto heretodaygonetohell.com to see what the latest is. Haven't felt this excited about Guns N' Roses in a long time. Only it used to be magazine shelves where I found the latest news. All the little teases and snippets of info keep me going. Can't wait to see this happen.

Good call... I was originally so focused on trying to understand why Axl had 2 Magic 8 Balls (my mind never went to maracas  Roll Eyes) that I didn't even pickup on the pedal or the monitor.

I sort of without seeing what's off screen thougt we were looking at the back of the stage say to the right of the drums... which to me would make the placement of the pedal facing rear seem odd. BUT Axl's station could be placed up front for easy access during rehearsals.

Choo Choo! Cool.

While listening to the ear monitor bootlegs I have always wondered how they communicate with each other through the mics, but of course it's something as simple as a foot pedal.

But what about the balls, you got any insight? Cheesy
Yep there is either a separate mic on stage that they can go up to that is on a different feed that allows them to talk into the inner ear monitor or something like the pedal that changes the feed to the inner ear monitor.

Wasn't his signature on the auction for the snare drum?
