It's obviously a joke in there. He knows that he's practically confirmed he's in the band with previous posts, so his "denied" is clearly ironic.


However, the question isn't really whether or not Chris is in the band, but rather why the management wants to avoid the "confirmations" from the band members.

If Chris, Dizzy, Frank and Richard are the band members, why not just confirm it?

I think the "denied" part was the joke. I think that management did NOT tell him he couldn't talk.  I think he's close enough with them that they all are in on the "joke".

I'm guessing that the no official confirmation of Chris, Dizzy, Frank and Richard is probably more about whether or not Izzy and Adler/Sorum will be making an appearance.

Again, I think Chris has enough respect for management that if he were asked not to say anything then he would not post saying that he was told not to say anything.

This has been my point all along, I think many missed this.

It's probably the answer to why they can't confirm at the moment..... line-up isn't finalized yet.

If it is so blatantly obvious and no big deal, I can't see why Chris got that request from management.


It seems likely that GN'R only want the names Axl, Slash and Duff out there for the time being.

Not necessarily.  Sometimes the problem with inside jokes, especially when visible to the GNR fan world, is that the people (fans) who don't get the joke and have a tendency to look for a "dooms day scenario" are going to go overboard with their negativity.

Your second sentence I quoted here probably answers the question in the first sentence.  And since Steven is being completely silent on his involvement, yay or nay, that second sentence makes even more sense as to who or what "the powers that be" want info released by/about.

If they can get Steven to keep things under his hat then I think it's logical to want everyone else to do the same.
