People that smoke smell horrid, and are horrible to kiss. It is such a 'yesterday' habit.

Exercise and being out of breath alot kills the habit very quickly.

It's been 15 days.......since I've had a cigarette. If I can do it, ANYONE can. Trust me, its the best decision I have ever made. I've never had more energy. I feel like alive again.

I personally am a smoker. I agree with Mystersons sentiments, it's a very "yesterday" thing and as a smoker you feel that more. And like Mysterson said, I can definitely concur, as I started exercising last year and being a smoker makes it EXTRAORDINARILY difficult to get enough air to workout.

I'm glad DJ chose to make public that he was giving up smoking, it gives motivation to the rest of us to finally give it up.

Like DJ Said, if he can quit, we all can.

I quit in 2003 and never looked back.

I've known  heavy smokers with a hangover that had to do fitness tests which includes a 1.5 mile run, and they done it in 6 mins 30 seconds, and it's cause there built like a twig.

There seems to be a perception that fitness is affected by smoking-related ailments like lung cancer and emphysema. You're probably right, though - body mass is more important for fitness than being cancer-free.

a friend who's bmi is a lot higher then mine happens to be a lot fitter...maybe the extra weight she has to drag around causes that

Yeah it's crazy. Some wacko "scientists" using "science" as their basis, believe that burning partially combusted vegetable matter results in the production of carbon monoxide and that when you inhale said carbon monoxide into your lungs, rather than oxygen, such an act has a negative impact on your bodies ability to convey oxygenated blood to your muscles...

These "scientists" further postulate that the lack of oxygenated blood received by your muscles impairs your ability to perform physical activities.
