The tweets about the new album appear to be gone.

Bumblefoot First rehearsal = chugging a bottle of Advil, playing sitting on a chair unable to get comfortable. Don't know if I'm able to do this. Feel bad for Ron

I know it is just a matter of time until someone mentions the B word...and other names but in all seriousness Ron needs to be very smart about this; he needs to follow his instinct and/or get a complete check up by a leading professional. He should not risk any long term damage to his body and career if he is unable to perform at the level he needs to at this point. He needs to put his health first before anything. I think and hope Axl and everyone else would understand if he needed to step aside for a while if he required treatment IF it is something that can be healed through physical therapy or surgery. The man is still young and has a long life ahead of him.

This is part of a comment someone left on Facebook to this: You can do it Ron, I'm sure DJ has something for the pain" It made me chuckle.

You kidding... They have physical therapist on every tour, my suggestion is "bring em in earlier" and avoid the double neck guitar. Put a single fretless guitar on a stand... I hope it all works out fine ! G'luck gunners !

Not sure what they would do now if Ron had to bow out. Way too late to get a replacement. Unless of course.....a visit to the chicken coop is in order?

Bands usually have contingency plans in the event of something like this happening. I'm sure they're aware of Ron's recent physical setback from the accident. I wouldn't be surprised if they have someone on retainer or something just in case. I hope it doesn't happen though.

Maybe, but you don't exactly put an ad on Craigslist and just find someone who can play like these guys.

Wonder what Izzy's up to next month? He's "filled in" before when needed... Not saying he will be but it would be a pretty cool way out of a problem IF it exists...

Yeah, but Izzy has filled in on rhythm guitar, and that was 1993. Ya gotta realize Ron is essentially playing Buckethead's parts on the new stuff.

I was referring to a bit more recently than that. Izzy filled in for 5 shows in Europe in 2006 too... I'm confident DJ and Richard could handle the lead parts and the newer material between them with Izzy doing his rhythm thing if necessary. Not saying it would be ideal, but if Ron needs another couple of months to get right, then it would be a plausible way out without having to pull out of booked shows and I know I'd rather see GnR with Izzy instead of Bumble than no GnR at all, even if the only way I'll see them soon is on Youtube... Cheers.
