I don't know what game D and that Ian announcer guy was watching but, as disappointed as I am that our team lost, there was absolutely nothing exciting or dramatic about that and I'm glad it's over.

That's nothing compared to this:

It was the goal that made my team win the Carioca championship this year, after losing to our biggest rival for 3 consecutive years. Can you imagine how we almost had a heart attack when that ball hit the post?

I've been told Botafogo sucks....
I saw on TV that the English seem overly confident about tomorrow's game. Talking about the media over there...
They haven't been
that
great in this tournament....

I personally dont give a fuck about Ghana, and even though i like USA's team (Donovan, specially, i love him), i must admit this game was not the one I was expecting most from round of 16.
With that said, the match, specially the last 30 min, was VERY exciting and VERY dramatic. How many times you see 2 goalkeepers fighting for a ball in the air, in a World Cup match? That's just one of several examples.

ghana deserved the win yesterday, they played entertaining football and finally got 2 "playing" goals, most players would fall and try to get a penalty, instead he kept going and scored a beautiful goal. fell in love with ghana in the 2006 world cup and with the US team at last years confederations so i would've won with whatever result
i still don't know which team i want to win the cup..

I don't think Ghana deserved to win. I think USA was way better and even more entertaining and really risked it. But hey, it's football and only the goals matter. I'm just a little dissapointed because the first goal was so easy for Ghana. And for the first time in this tournament I thought the referee really sucked.. some major fouls here and there but no whistle.
Mexico and Germany for the win today!

fuck, it's among the best games of the tournament yet but that "no goal" almost ruins it for me.. i'm rooting for germany but don't fucking want them to go through because of a refs mistake

Couldn't care less about Norway not qualifying.
England was robbed..... I think it's time to start using video to help the referees....

Yes, they were robbed. And now everyone's bashing the referee for it, but if he didn't see the ball cross the line he did the right
and only possible
decision.. and keep in mind he had like a second to do it. So I don't blame the ref (even though he should have seen it), but it really is the time for video checking in tournaments like this. But in my opinion, the video should only be used in a situation like this.. to check if the ball crossed the line or not. Not to check possible offside that have been flagged already or some other crappy things. It would just kill the game.

Blame FIFA, not the referees. They're human.

And in my opinion referee mistakes are part of this game. This one was just too big and important (and pretty rare too).
Anyway, Germany just scored 3-1
Lads can only blame themselves for that one..

It seems Mick Jagger is a black cat.
Yesterday he was on USA match. USA out...
Today he was on England match. England out...
