Yes, bring 'em on!
If we can't beat a team that lost to Switzerland, then we are probably better off going home anyway.

Some beautiful and nice goals today, especially the Japanese freekicks. And it was a pleasure seeing Italy go down, even though I didn't see the offside (but it goes well with the theme of this tournament). That group was supposed to be easy, maybe they had an attitude problem..? Denmark was just blaaaaah again, I expected so much more from them but in this tournament they were nothing like they were some years ago. And whole Afrika kind of let me down as Ghana is the only team going to the knock-outs. But overall I'm glad that USA and Holland made it, two of my favourites again.
Germany-England will be interesting. Germany seemed to be really out of control but their last two games weren't that good, altough it might have something to do with Klose missing (Podolski just can't score). I've always "hated" England's national team because of the 1998 tournament but now my thoughts are starting to change, I really liked their last game

england choking at various points of the Group stage really cost them. tough grouping for them....if they beat Germany they'll probably have Argentina waiting for them next.
whereas had they scored another goal in that final game (Rooney should have buried that shot), they would have won Group C and would be facing Ghana followed by Uraguay (or South Korea), which would have been just a tad bit easier.

A bit of a scrappy game between Brazil and Portugal.
The first half was all Brazil, they could have scored 3 easily. Then the second half was just about defensive play, no one really getting any good chances.
I'm liking Brazil at this tournament, they will be hard to beat for sure.

Wouldn't England had to have scored more goals than that?
England had 2 goals, total, in the group stage (1-1 draw with the US, 0-0 draw with Algeria, 1-0 win vs SLV)
US had 4 goals, total, in group stage (1-1 draw with England, 2-2 draw with SLV, 1-0 win vs Algeria).
Tie break is total goals, right (4 vs 2)? Not +/- goals ratio (+1 vs +1)? Or is it goals ratio THEN total goals? I get confused....I know the last one is "drawn lot".

Not a great game, but they both didn't seem to care that much. Kaka and Robinho give the team more "creativity", if you know what I mean, they were greatly missed today. I got sick worried when Raul Meirelles accidently stepped on Julio Cesar's back. He had some back problems before the World Cup, and if we ever lose him, we lose the Cup.
I loved how the Brazilian and the Portuguese players were hugging and greeting each other and laughing at the end of the game. It was too cute.

no, first tie breaker is goal differential.
unbelievable that the biggest sports tournament in the world would eliminate a team based on a coin flip. i'm also not a fan of deciding games on penalty kicks either.
