As predicted, the English lambs were slaughtered. With the fight back in the first half, I thought they might reply in the second, but by the third goal they were pretty much out of it.
Beautiful football from Germany, although a colander of an English defence made their job easy.

How do you see Germany's future if Argentina defeats Mexico today (which I think it will happen)?

I fancy Argentina for the win. Germany have a very clinical approach which might be their undoing. As we progress, the matches get better and better. drool

After todays match I'd say Germany could easily beat Argentina. But it's so hard to say and that's the beauty of this game Smiley At the moment Germany is my favourite to win the whole tournament (although it has been since the beginning) and I just hope they don't get too confident. But the way they build up their attacks is just beautiful and finally they seem to have more than one player who can score. And their defence is fairly good too, even though Lahm made some weird mistakes today.

Just look at the way they move the ball and advance towards the opponent's goal.. beautiful.

With that said, the match, specially the last 30 min, was VERY exciting and VERY dramatic. How many times you see 2 goalkeepers fighting for a ball in the air, in a World Cup match? That's just one of several examples.
yup ... gotta admit, I never saw that before hihi  but only because I never watch soccer unless the USA is playing  Tongue

You're not from the USA.  This is how 99.999% of Americans feel ....

BUT WE ARE ALL STILL VERY VERY PROUD OF OUR TEAM AND THEIR EFFORT!!!

England was my 2nd favourite team in this World Cup.

But I like Germany very much, and they played so beautifully, that I can't even get sad for England's loss.

Now, Argentina x Germany. THAT's a game I won't miss for ANYTHING in the world! beer beer beer

It's pretty much impossible to predict the winner for that one.

this is probably weird logic, but since Dirk Nowitzki is my favorite basketball player of all time and he is from Germany, I am gonna hop on the German bandwagon for the rest of the cup.... of course like Mick Jagger, i could be the curse of death.

I need to Google though and find out some more of the rules... I didn't understand yesterday why our player got a yellow card for tackling i guess its called, but i saw 4 or 5 times where Ghana did the exact same thing to us and didn't get a yellow card.

I can't believe Englands 2nd goal not being allowed, it was blatantly over the line.

Germany was the better side, yes. But with it being 2-2 at half time which is should of been, we may have been able to pressurize the germans more than we did in the second half.

And who knows what the result would have been if it was 2-2 at the interval.

Yep.. the referees talked about the situation after the goal though but I guess they were sure it wasn't an offside.

Referee are humans but trying to not validate the goal LOOKING AT THE VIDEO SCREEN is stupid and is against the rules...

well, isn't it against the rules for the refs to watch the big screens for calls? I think they saw it on the replay but aren't allowed to change the decision because they didn't actually see it when it happened

this must be the last tournament without extra refs for the penalty areas

That's what I'm talking about. They can't change the decision seeing the replay at the screen.

But it's just unbelievable that the ref didn't see it when it happened, it was so clearly an offside. We don't need any extra refs or videos for this kind of things, we just need three PROFESSIONAL refs.
