before posting, sorry Jarmo and the mods for the third consecutive post, but i think it deserves it:

Anyway, argentine GNR fans are REALLY desperate and scared to death, because we are just one week away from the Coldplay show (same venue) and the River Plate Stadium is currently not authorized to hold rock concerts.

There's a huge debate about this subject. A lot of non-fans are aware of GNR's arrival to Argentina, not because of the media promoting the show, but for the legal fight between Time For Fun Argentina and the lawyers trying to cancel the show at River because of some Nu?ez neighbours complaints (Nu?ez is the neighbourhood where the River Plate Stadium is)

Time 4 Fun Argentina says they have everything they need to let the show happen: they got the permission from the Buenos Aires government since November 2009, and they claim the only valid research done in the last years about rock concerts at RPS (made by the University of Buenos Aires) [the research the lawyers say ''they need to have with negative results before the show''] say ''there is no significant enviromental impact caused by the crowd jumping in the structures of near buildings''.

But these lawyers claim they need to have a new research / investigation before allowing the Coldplay / GNR shows, and they accuse the guy from the government who gave Tickets For Fun the permission to do these 2 shows of ''non-fulfilment of public charge duties''. They also say that the responsible of doing the research is T4F itself, not an state-owned university.

This link say that the vibrations level perceived in near buildings at the last AC/DC concert was between 10 and 18 times more than is allowed.

And last, but definitely not least, Time 4 Fun Argentina said, regarding the Coldplay show, that the gic CAN NOT be done in another place, because there is no other habilitated place by the government with the capacity (60.000) and the configuration of the River Plate Stadium

I guess the Sao Paulo venue change is nothing but a mix up.  Huh

People see the listing on gunsnroses.com and assume it's correct.

While the Ticketmaster Brasil site still lists the original venue.

Also, what happened with the news from Costa Rica? Seems awfully quiet.... Nothing confirmed, wishful thinking, or what?

/jarmo

Things in this country happen very slowly..  hihi
I wouldnt be surprised if it were wishful thinking, but somehow I dont think wishful thinking from some fan would end up on the main tv news....

however, anything's possible. As soon as I can discard or confirme Ill let you know.  Tongue

Band the television channel, folks, not THE band!  Wink

That would be nice but, at least here in Porto Alegre, the concert is being promoted by Rede Globo, altough I don't know if it's national or just local promotion.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for

a) a broadcast
b) they don't cut the concert or talk over it

Latest RUMOUR is the Coldplay show is definitely not going to happen at River, and that T4F is negotiating with Club Atl?tico INDEPENDIENTE (Avellaneda, Argentina, football team who has recently inaugurated a new stadium, with 30.000+ capacity). T4F will announce the moving of the show 7 days before the show.

It has also been said that there will be no rock concerts at the River Plate stadium while there's no research made about the enviromental impact caused by the crowd jumping.

Not true. I work there and asked. They just mentioned the gig. The whole live broadcast gear and crew will be at the Formula Indy weekend.

I'll keep an eye on it, in case the GNR crew itself could provide the TV signal.
