All venues capacity were taken from Wikipedia.  Lips Sealed

Yes old "Wikipedia", the most reliable source there is, ignore the fact that almost anybody can edit the information given.

VENUES CAPACITY for concerts:
Mar. 07 - Bras?lia, Brazil - Gin?sio Nilson Nelson
25,000 people.

Mar. 10 - Belo Horizonte, Brazil - Gin?sio Jornalista Felipe Drumond (Mineirinho)
25,000 people.

Mar. 13 - S?o Paulo, Brazil - Palestra It?lia Stadium
45,000 people.

Mar. 14 - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - Pra?a da Apoteose
40,000 people.

Mar. 16 - Porto Alegre, Brazil - Gin?sio Gigantinho
20,000 people.

Mar. 18 - Montevideo, Uruguay - Estadio Centenario
76,000 people.

Mar. 20 - Buenos Aires, Argentina - Estadio River Plate
65,000 people.

Mar. 22 - Santiago, Chile - Club Hipico de Santiago
30,000 people.

Mar. 25 - Lima, Peru - La Explanada Sur del Estadio Monumental
80,000 people.

Mar. 30 - Bogot?, Colombia - Sim?n Bol?var Park
Holds 140,000 people, but usually for concerts the crowd is 30,000 people. But Iron Maiden's crowd there was almost 100,000.

Apr. 01 - Quito, Ecuador - Estadio Ol?mpico Atahualpa
40,000 people.

So it would be 475,000 people, in 12 concerts, =~40,000 per concert.

Just one correction:

Mar. 25 - Lima, Peru - La Explanada Sur del Estadio Monumental
30 000 people.

The concert is in the parking lot of the stadium, not in the Stadium

Where did you get those?

I'm pretty sure for indoor concerts the capacity changes based on how much floor space the production requires, and how many sections of seats need to be blocked off due to issues with security or obstructed view etc.

Manets took those from Wikipedia, and we all know that's not a trustworthy source. I can speak for Belo Horizonte's arena: it fits 25,000 people already excluding the space for stage. Actually, biggest concert attendance there was 31,000 people (http://www.ademg.mg.gov.br/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=80&Itemid=86), "Mineirinho" is one of the world's biggest indoor arenas.

I can't say anything about the other venues, I have no idea what their actual capacity would be.

As I understand it to Uruguay are authorized to sell about 43,000 tickets, so the ability of the Centenario Stadium will not be used 100%.

There's a friend of my wife selling three tickets for the Sao Paulo gig. He bought it to his cousins, but they said they couldn't make it. If there's someone interested, PM me.

Guns N' Roses just went north for a Canadian tour, and now the band has announced plans to head south for a run of dates in South America this spring. Could a U.S. Tour be far behind? We will wait and see.
We have the dates for the new outing along with Axl Roses twitter recap of their recently completed Canadian tour. Here is what Axl had to say about that outing: WOW!! The Canadian Run's over already?!! That was insane!! And I mean that in the absolute BEST way possible!! We'll take a few days 2 regroup n' jump in2 the next thing. Thanks 2 everyone 4 coming out, hope u had fun!! We had a blast!! Can't wait 2 see u again!!

Special thanks 2 all the fans, r production, video, security, transpo, catering, merchandise, wardrobe, personal n' biz crews, Sebastian n' the Sebastian Bach Band, Maria Bach, Danko Jones, all of r's n' their roadies, techs, the Shot Girls, r personal friends, family n' guests who came out 2 support us, Lucky Beer (Aussie), Bubbles n' all the TPB's (unbelievable ending!!), thanks 4 ALL the positive press n' reviews, it's more than greatly appreciated!!

W/the exceptions of r scheduling, n' routing nonsense, a few misguided (minor) media hacks twistin' either Haiti comments or a 2001 bs RS story, all the bumps n' bruises n' landin' on my ass!! Ha! ... All n' all a good run. Would've liked to hit Toronto a bit harder (n' earlier!).

Thanks Canada!! A BIG thanks to the band!! Thanks 2 all the well wishers n' 4 all the bday wishes. Ur all 2 kind!! Oh n' the band 4 buyin' me 10 acres on the Moon!! I miss you Moje!!"

thanks Ulises manets and everyone for the replies.
im so glad that the most enthusiastic fellow fans in south America are finally getting to hear Chinese democracy songs live.  Grin

there's a very serious problem with the River Plate Stadium in Buenos Aires. It has to do with the enviromental impact that the constant jumping of the fans produce in the buildings near the stadium.

so, this has been sorted out.  Smiley

no, not at all

http://www.tn.com.ar/2010/02/08/sociedad/02136143.html

The guy talking there is the most reliable source of the live music business in Argentina. He suggests people not to panic, that there are still good chances to sort this problem out and to have GNR in the River Plate Stadium. Main problem is the lack of trustful studies/investigations about the damage caused by the constant crowd jumping to buildings near the stadium. Big rock acts like guns make crowd jumping a real problem. Studies says that they produce seismic movements of 4-5 in the richter scale. People is REALLY wild here, no joke.

The lawyer trying to stop rock concerts at the river plate stadium indefinitely is a woman called Ana Paulesu, who lives near the stadium.

http://www.criticadigital.com/impresa/index.php?secc=nota&nid=38303

Now the Buenos Aires government is asking the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) to do these studies soon, to sort this problem out, who's also complicating Coldplay.

And the lastest ''rumour'' (take it as it is, a rumour) is GNR could be playing at Parque Roca (Roca Park): http://www.buenosaires.gov.ar/areas/deportes/polideportivos/ficha.php?id=15&menu_id=6225, an open air micro-stadium for 14,500 people. This stadium was used for several tennis matches for the Davis Cup (which we lost again fucking Spain some time ago  rant )

Why are they playing in a parking lot instead of the stadium or San marcos stadium?

http://www.clarin.com/diario/2010/02/11/laciudad/h-02137643.htm

The issue has now made the news at "Clarin" (one of Argentina's most credible newspapers).

It goes along saying what Estebanf's mentioned a few posts above. However, the matter could be resolved at the supreme court, although the promoter's desires is to obviously sort out this matter the sooner the merrier.

Right now, there's no guarantee for fans who have purchased tickets to the GNR and Coldplay gigs that the shows will actually go on as planned.

It dependes, if producer put speakers on the back is great, if don't  the sounds is not very well. But in this venue we've had a lot of concerts like: The Killers, Alanis Morristte, Roger Waters, Colective Soul, Cranberries, etc....

We could discuss that hihi

But yeah, things seems complicated here  Undecided

Argentina's almost sold out or at least that is what some people who are looking for ticket says. Only the worst places are available...

52 from 55 possible locations at the River Plate Stadium are sold out, field game included  beer

I think an official / complete sellout is imminent (which means 45.000+ people)
