Since it is the first confirmed song off the solo album I figured I would make its own stand alone thread for anyone who didn't migrate into the LAYN thread to see that it was played at the charity show.

The song is simply amazing.  The album will rock if the other songs are of this level.

Cool riffs, solo gains incredible momentum and vocals are awesome!

The song easily stood its own in a set of rock classics.  Slash is definitly in great form at the moment.

Sounds as good as anything thats been released by Slash since UYI's.

Absolutely, it is 1 out of 18 songs, the rest could all blow.

However, without even hearing a finished studio version this may easily be the best rock song Slash has done (outside of Slither maybe) since the Illusions.

That riff is heavy and really catchy, and all of the tempo changes throughout the song and the build toward the solo (which is awesome) is about as complete a song as he has done.

It is not the paint by numbers plodding type of song we have seen him churn more often than he should.

It is only a live version, but I can totally see this sounding huge on a record, and he has already shown through the 2 songs not on the album that the production and sonic quality of the album should be awesome.

It is only one song, but at least this illustrates to us that he can still bring it (in case some people forgot or lost faith).

Great points!  i actually kind of liked Sahara too, although not half as much as this.
And i agree it sounds up there on Slither level.  I heard he was gonna play the new song with Ozzy too but they hadnt got it rehearsed.  Shame

Nice to hear the Slash wah back. I hope there are tracks with longer solos though. Maybe an instrumental?
Damn, I really want to hear the studio version of this song.

i think i recall hearing there is a song with dave grohl and Duff or something that is an instrumental.  (Could be VERY wrong though!)
I would like to hear some cool outro soloing.  Like in PC and Nightrain.
But i thought that solo was real cool.

Sahara has been growing on me alot, this one is awesome too. I imagine the studio version will be a bit different and probably even more killer. Back when Slash played this riff as a showtune for Gibson on Sky TV last year I already mentioned he should use it in a song, glad he did Tongue

This song alone is better then any VR song imo.. just like Loaded blowed VR away. Kinda weird to me that Duff is better with Loaded and Slash seems better (out of the box, more rootsy) with his solo album, then the two combined on VR.

Really looking forward to Slash's album Cool
