Eddie Timanus wrote his college football preview today using Guns N roses as his theme.  He used "Appetite for destruction" to describe the T.C.U vs Utah game. "Chinese Democracry" to describe the Cincy Qb situation. "Guns" for the Texas tech vs Ok state game. "N Roses" for the Iowa Vs Ohio St game. "Paradise City" for the U.S.C vs Stanford. "Welcome to the jungle" for Auburn Vs Georgia and of course. "November Rain"for Georgia Tech vs Duke.  Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. Just thought it was cool to have Gun's n Roses in the Usa Today again.  Ill look for a link. Im a old guy who still gets a newspaper everyday. rofl

Nice that "Chinese Democracy" was used.  What was the reference there though?  I don't get it.  I know Cincy has a bit of a situation at QB.  The starter (Pike) got hurt, and the replacement (Collares) has played real well.  Now they're both healthy and they're sticking with Collares, for now.  What's the tie in with Chinese Democracy there?  I figured it'd be a joke about the length of time to come out or something, but that doesn't make any sense in this situation.

I think they're planning to play both QB's. So maybe a democracy in the sense that everyone is getting to play? That's kind of a reach but a cool idea for a column anyway.

You should have seen the cover they wanted to do. It wasn't a glove, believe me.

Sounds like more of a reference to the fact that the "voters" would be against Cincy even if they run the table and they wouldn't get a chance to play for the national championship.
