According to this, he will (possibly) be making an appearance at Golden Gate park for the 40th anniversary of Woodstock. I hear they are trying to break the record for most guitarists playing Purple Haze at once, so bring your guitars!

My birthday is that day, but I'd like to know more about his appearance to see if its worth the hassle if public trans that day  smoking

Interesting, taking a quick look I see this...

Will a couple thousand Hendrix fans kiss the sky?and a world record?

The College of Marin instructor who hopes to break the world record for the largest guitar ensemble ever to screech and scream a tune is on track to land in the Guinness World Records book.

Steven Roby, the author and historian who taught a COM summer class about rock icon Jimi Hendrix, will lead the ad-hoc guitar ensemble Oct. 25 at the West Fest 40th Woodstock anniversary concert in Golden Gate Park. The gigantic jam will feature a performance of Hendrix's psychedelic masterwork "Purple Haze," an iconic song that capped the late legend's 1969 appearance at the original Woodstock Festival.

Other performers scheduled to appear on the five stages at the daylong concert include Jefferson Starship, members of Country Joe & the Fish, Slash and Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins, among others.

And I like this part...

Slash to make appearance at neo-hippie fest. Cheesy
