And at least in Hartwall Areena the floor is so empty that you can easily walk to a good spot when ever you want to. Not to the front row for sure, but pretty close anyway. And no, you don't have to use your elbows or piss people off.

I just don't get the floor thing in the practical sense. I am gonna drink for a Rock show. I am going to do lots of things for a GN'R show and drinking is one of them. So there I am in the front on the floor. Oh shit I got to take a piss. Uh oh, I go pee come back...fuck me I am all the way back here now. Aint that a bitch.

So whats the deal. Do you fuckers not have any drinks if you are on the floor or what?

Most people don't have a strong dependence on drugs and alcohol for a good time.

Next time you do that, speak Swedish with a loud voice! Let's see if you piss people off....

I only have a couple beers before a Gn'R show...other bands i'll get shit-faced. Some blow to keep me alert and not piss too, haha. After the show, it's time to party. But yeah. I like the floor just cause i like to be right in front.

Yeah maybe I should try that hihi Anyway, I'm wondering if the arena floors are always that empty.. I mean in every country/city. 'Cause in Hartwall Areena the floor is like 1/3 full when it's sold out.. or at least was when GN'R and Aerosmith played there, and they were both sold out.

Maybe it just looked so because people were thronging toward the stage.

I suspect that English spoken in a loud voice in a lobby pisses Swedes off.  Tongue

yes some liquids eg isotonic drinks. GNR is our natural high.  beer

No, man! I have to be clear headed because I wanna enjoy all the single moment of the show! That's very important for me, I love Guns N' Roses, they are playing for us and I will be there to listening and to capture all the emotions that they pass on.

No, those numbers are just used for tracking purposes.  I have a stack of tickets from shows I've gone to that have been GA which have rows and seat numbers.

I think i'v seen that too on some tix, but was just curious because my other conformations didn't have numbers for tracking purposes? Just says GA-floors.

I have 3 floors for Hamilton, if anyone wants to trade for seats that are up close.....I'd be interested.

All the shows iv been too, and that doesn't include GNR because iv never seen them live old or new band (yeah, its a shame, but something always came up in the middle  Undecided)
But all the shows iv been to... AC/DC, Rock In Rio Lisbon 2004(Metallica, Incubus, Sepultura, Moonspell, Slipknot) and also Korn, Muse, Linkin Park on the same day, i always went to the floor. Never experimented the seats, Its a lotta of fun in the floor, but on AC/DC's show for example it would have been better to stay in the seats! Cause they had this big ramp where angus walked and did his 20 minute solo, and i would have liked to have seen more of that hihi

I know this really doesn't have anything to do with GNR, but since it IS a discussion about seats.

Has anyone ever had seats BEHIND the stage before?  It's all that is available for Pearl Jam in Hartford right now.  I've been waiting to see if better seats get released but it's been a few weeks and nothing yet.  The show is in 3 weeks or so.  I mean, the seats are close, lower level.  But, behind the stage?  Can that possibly be any good?

I've ad these kind of seats once and it really depend on the stage layout.  Mine was ok.  But for example, I recently went to see Bon Jovi and people who had seats behind the stage were really OK.  I mean, they didn't have a full view ALL the time, but the way the stage lay out is designed, they had a very good view 85% of the time.  I honestly thing that, depending on the stage layout, these seats are better than no seats at all.

Yeah, I'd be down for trying them out.  But my buddy isn't as willing for the $82 ticket price.

In relation to the original question.

I have to say out of the 14 times I've seen GN'R I've only sat twice, but both times the show was absolutely amazing. I sat this year in Toronto, and it was just brilliant because I could see the whole stage show.  Smiley

It really comes down to personal taste, and what you prefer. I love standing and being up front close to the band, but in my view, being in a reserved seating spot is just as good.  Cheesy

I prefer a seat, only because I would not like standing the whole concert. I've seen them 3 times at a seat every time, besides you pretty much stand majority of the time but its nice to sit a little too.

Yeah, I'd be down for trying them out.  But my buddy isn't as willing for the $82 ticket price.

I've sat in those exact seats, in the Civic Center (Xl Center..whatever) as a freebie about a half dozen times.

It's NEVER been a good seat.  Now, that could be because the bands stage setup was lousy and not conducive to sitting behind the stage.  I'll allow for that.  But, in general, the XL center, itself, has a CRAPPY concert setup with a pretty lousy (now a days) sound system that tends to get overwhelmed, easily.    Add to that you're pointing AWAY from all the amps and speakers and if you have the normal "default" XL center scaffolding stage setup...and you're not going to be able to see much, or hear much, and you're going to lose out on a LOT of the crowd energy.

Not, probably, what you wanted to hear.  But that being said, if the PJ stage is "open back" or "switch back", you might be OK.  Still, for 82 beans...I'm not sure I'd jump on it unless I just had to be there (ie: this was a GnR show).

I've seen PJ at the Dodge ('06 and '08) and they were GREAT shows...but even then, I don't think I'd pay that for those seats.  YMMV.

Check fansnap.com  You should be able to find better seats for not much more.  I'd even take uppers over behind the stage, for comparable dollars.

I've seen GNR 6 times, 4 times on the floor and twice in seats.  The two times with seats were at MSG, where IMO every seat is good.  It depends on the venue.  I will say that the best shows I have been to were when I was in the front row of GA.  Nothing beats being a few feet from your favorite band.  It is a hassle though, and can be uncomfortable if you are there for a long time, so I only go early and get close to the stage for my favorite bands, GNR, Metallica, etc..Other bands I get floor seats and just roam around where its not crowded.  Im really not into having an assigned seat at a rock show, unless its really close, then it is great.

Also I want to add.

What really determines if your seat or standing position is good, is the company you're in. It really does make a big difference, to the overall atmosphere.

If the people around you seem cool, and just want to have a good time, you are most likely going to have a brilliant show. But we've all been there when 1 or 2 idiots try to ruin the fun, and you don't need it when your trying to enjoy the show.
